A representation of our Altar Servers and Stella girls visited Mapoko and Lungobe with Fr. Chanda to introduce these groups in the said Centres. This was an invitation from the Sub- Parish. We thank our girls and boys for their ministry of reaching out.

Music is an important part of the Catholic liturgy. Hymns and songs may accompany different parts of the Mass, including the entrance, preparation of the gifts, Communion, and dismissal. The Gloria is itself a great hymn of praise, proclaiming glory to God and professing faith in Him.

The music used at Mass should support prayer and draw attention toward God rather than becoming merely a performance.

Receiving the Eucharist is not merely a personal religious practice. It unites Catholics more deeply with Christ and with one another as members of His Body, the Church. At Christ the King Parish Church, the celebration of the Eucharist therefore becomes a source of faith, unity, forgiveness, strength, and Christian service.

“Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him.” — John 6:56

The Eucharist calls every parishioner to leave the church renewed in faith and ready to live the Gospel through love, forgiveness, compassion, and service to others.

As members of Christ the King Parish, Mumbwa, we are encouraged to cultivate a culture of generous and responsible offering. Let us give willingly, faithfully, and according to our means. Let our offerings support the work of evangelisation and enable the parish to serve God and His people more effectively.

Above all, let us remember that the greatest offering we can make is ourselves. When we give our resources, time, talents, and hearts to God, we participate more fully in the mission of Christ and build a stronger Christian community.

Fr. Zwanyika Urges Faithful to Be Trustworthy Stewards of Christ’s Vision.

Christ the King Parish priest, Fr Moses Zwanyika, has urged the faithful to recognise themselves as stewards and servants entrusted with responsibilities by God, saying Christians must remain faithful to the vision and mission entrusted to them.

Speaking during his homily at Christ the King Parish in Mumbwa, Fr Zwanyika said people cannot effectively work with individuals who are unfaithful or unwilling to uphold a shared vision.

He said the lesson also applies to everyday life, where people should carefully choose those they trust and those they work with, particularly when they are entrusted with important responsibilities.

Fr Zwanyika drew parallels between leadership and the Gospel account in which Jesus chose the twelve Apostles from among the people he loved.

“Love is universal, but do not make everyone your friend,” he said, stressing that although Jesus loved everyone, he deliberately chose the twelve Apostles to carry out his mission.

He said Christians should surround themselves with people they can trust and have confidence in, especially when they are entrusted with responsibilities.

Fr Zwanyika referred to the Gospel passage in which Jesus tested his disciples by asking them who they believed he was. Simon Peter correctly identified Jesus as the Christ, the Son of the living God.

He noted that Jesus subsequently entrusted Peter with the keys of the Kingdom and declared him the rock upon which the Church would be built.

Fr Zwanyika, indicated that the passage offers an important lesson about entrusting responsibility to people who understand and are committed to a particular vision.

He said many people experience disappointment because they entrust their “keys” representing responsibility, confidence and trust to people who are unable or unwilling to uphold the vision entrusted to them.

“We make mistakes in life because we give our keys to the wrong people, and they betray us,” he said.

Fr Zwanyika challenged the faithful to reflect on whether they truly know Jesus, saying a deeper relationship with Christ is essential for anyone who wants to faithfully carry out responsibilities entrusted to them.

He encouraged the congregation to deepen their understanding of Jesus and to remain faithful to his teachings and mission.

The parish priest further reminded the faithful that the Catholic Church has endured for more than 2,000 years and will continue to stand because it is founded on a strong foundation.

He urged Catholics to pray for the grace to know Jesus, remain faithful to his vision and responsibly carry out the duties entrusted to them.

Fr Zwanyika also encouraged the faithful to take pride in belonging to the Catholic Church, describing it as a universal Church with a mission that extends across the world.
