“I give you what I have, in the name of Jesus, rise and walk. ”

*A reading from the Acts of the Apostles (ACTS 3: 1 - 10)*

In those days: Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. And a man lame from birth was being carried, whom they laid daily at that gate of the temple which is called Beautiful to ask alms of those who entered the temple. Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked for alms. And Peter directed his gaze at him, with John, and said, “Look at us.” And he fixed his attention upon them, expecting to receive something from them. But Peter said, “I have no silver and gold, but I give you what I have; in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise and walk.” And he took him by the right hand and raised him up; and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong. And leaping up he stood and walked and entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God, and recognised him as the one who sat for alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

“He will not cry or lift up his voice, or make it heard in the street.” (First song of the servant of the Lord)

*A reading from the Book of Isaiah (ISAIAH 42: 1 - 7)*

Behold my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen, in whom my soul delights; I have put my Spirit upon him, he will bring forth justice to the nations. He will not cry or lift up his voice, or make it heard in the street; a bruised reed he will not break, and a dimly burning wick he will not quench; he will faithfully bring forth justice. He will not fail or be discouraged till he has established justice in the earth; and the islands wait for his law. Thus says God, the Lord, who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread forth the earth and what comes from it, who gives breath to the people upon it and spirit to those who walk in it: “I am the Lord, I have called you in righteousness, I have taken you by the hand and kept you; I have given you as a covenant to the people, a light to the nations, to open the eyes that are blind, to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon, from the prison those who sit in darkness.

Today is The FEAST of The Visitation of The Blessed Virgin Mary.

EVERY Christian is familiar with the story of Our Blessed Lading visiting St.Elizabeth in The Gospel of Luke:

“In those days Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a city of Judah, and she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and she exclaimed with a loud cry, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! And why is this granted me, that the mother of my LORD should come to me? For behold, when the voice of your greeting came to my ears, the babe in my womb leaped for joy. And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord" (Luke 1:39–45).

*St.Luke is writing- that what The Ark of The Covenant was to The OLD Covenant, Mary IS to The NEW.

The Catechism says:
"Mary, in whom the Lord himself has just made his dwelling, is the daughter of Zion in person, the Ark of the Covenant, the place where the glory of the Lord dwells. She is ‘the dwelling of God . . . with men’" (CCC 2676).

Anyone familiar with or well read in The Old Testament can clearly see the typology and the parallels -When King David brought The Ark of The Covenant to The Hill Country of Judea in The Book of II Samuel:

*2 Samuel 6:9 And David was afraid of the LORD that day; and he said, “How can the ark of the LORD come to me?”
Luke 1:43 St.Elizabeth cries, “And why is this granted me, that the mother of my LORD should come to me?”

2 Samuel 6:15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the horn.
Luke 1:42 and she St.Elizabeth exclaimed with a loud cry, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!”

One Month On: Pope Leo XIV Honors Pope Francis

One month after the death of Pope Francis, Pope Leo XIV remembered him with deep gratitude during his first General Audience.

He highlighted Pope Francis’ devotion to the Gospel and prayer. A memorial Mass was held at Casa Santa Marta, and another is planned at his resting place in St. Mary Major.

Pope Leo continues to honor his predecessor’s legacy and encouraged all the faithful to build their lives on Christ and serve others with joy.
