FMBS Zambia Mission and Service Our Spirituality;
As the name indicates we follow the Rule and life of the Brothers of the third Order regular of St. Francis of Assis.

ours therefore is Franciscan Spirituality. This expresses very much what we live. we give ourselves to the Lord in the three vows of Obedience, poverty, and chastity. our vowed life, lived in community, constitutes a life of prayer. Our Charism is based on the Gospel of St. Luke:
" The spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. he has sent me to procla

im liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, and set free the oppressed, and announce the year of favor." thus proclaiming the "year of the Lord" is what we endeavor to do in word and deed. Where we are found;
We are found in Zambia and Korea. in Zambia we are Ndola and Solwezi Dioceses.

The Vatican has announced a special Jubilee Year to commemorate the Eighth Centenary of the passage of St. Francis of Assisi, inviting Catholics worldwide to renew their commitment to holiness, peace, and evangelical charity. According to the decree, Pope Leo has established the Year of St. Francis to be celebrated from January 10, 2026, to January 10, 2027. During this period, the faithful are encouraged to follow the example of the Saint of Assisi by living lives marked by humility, peace, and witness to the Gospel. The Apostolic Penitentiary has granted a plenary indulgence, under the usual conditions, to those who take part devoutly in the Jubilee celebrations. The initiative is presented as a spiritual continuation of the Ordinary Jubilee of 2025. The Jubilee Year is addressed in a particular way to members of the Franciscan Families, including the First, Second, and Third Orders, as well as institutes and associations inspired by Franciscan spirituality. At the same time, the grace of the Jubilee is extended to all the faithful, including the elderly and the sick, who unite spiritually with the celebrations. The Vatican expressed hope that this Jubilee will inspire renewed charity, peace, and evangelical witness, transforming the fruits of the Holy Year into concrete works of love in today’s world.

Today, within the serene confines of St. Dominic's Community, the brothers came together, along with those who are participating in the come and see program, to officially usher in the Advent season with a reflective Holy Hour with Vespers (evening prayer). This special occasion not only serves as a moment of quiet contemplation and spiritual renewal for those present but also signifies a significant milestone in the church, as today marks the beginning of the new liturgical year on the Catholic calendar. This moment is characterized by an atmosphere of anticipation and preparation, as the community gathers in faith and unity, looking forward to the joyful celebration of Christmas, a time that embodies hope, love, and the promise of Christ’s coming.

Abana Farm πŸ˜‚
🚜 🚜 "Ora et Labora," (Prayer and Work): A philosophy that emphasizes the importance of both spiritual devotion and diligent labor in achieving a fulfilling life. In an effort to uphold this principle, we have made a investment by acquiring a brand new tractor, a vital piece of equipment that will undoubtedly enhance our agricultural productivity. Thank you for your continued support to our cause.

The images below capture a moment of appreciation from the brothers.
