Scripture says, in 1 John 2:15-17
Do not love the world and the things that are in the world, if any man loves the world and the things that are in it, the love of the Father ( the hunger for righteousness, the fear of God, prayer, love for others and dedication to God Almighty) cannot be in him or her.
For all that are in the world
1. Lust of flesh - fornication, too much desire for foods of different kinds, anything to satisfy the demand of the flesh
2. Lust of eyes- what the eyes desires, the luxuries, the beauty of the world, the thrones of the world, the outward appearance of the woman or a man
3. Pride of life- what makes people feel distinguished from others, exalting above others, desiring to be seen by people
All these things are not of the Father but of the world.
The world and the lusts thereof are passing away, but he who do the will of the Father, abides forever!
