Distinguished guests, church leaders, members of Soteria Higher Life Church International, partners, friends, and beloved brethren.
Today is a very significant and historic day in the life of this ministry. We have gathered not merely to lay a block, but to mark the beginning of something that will stand as a testimony of God's faithfulness, provision, and grace.
A foundation may appear small when compared with the building that will eventually stand upon it, but every great building begins with a foundation.
The Bible says in Psalm 127:1, “Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it.”
Therefore, as we begin this construction, our confidence is not merely in human strength, finances, materials, or workmanship. Our confidence is in God, the One who has given us the vision and who will provide everything necessary for its completion.
JESUS CHRIST IS OUR FOUNDATION
The most important foundation of this project is not concrete, cement, blocks, or steel. Jesus Christ is our foundation.
Paul declared in 1 Corinthians 3:11, “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
This building must therefore represent Christ. May every person who enters these doors encounter the message of Christ, the grace of Christ, the love of Christ, and the transforming power of Christ.
A HOUSE FOR THE GLORY OF GOD
This construction is not simply about putting up a structure. We are creating a place where God's people can gather for worship, fellowship, teaching, prayer, evangelism, and spiritual growth.
Jesus said in Matthew 16:18, “I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
The church belongs to Christ, and we are privileged to participate in what He is building.
TODAY WE LAY THE FOUNDATION WITH FAITH
There may be many stages between today's foundation block and the completed building. There will be materials to purchase, labour to provide, finances to raise, and challenges to overcome.
But we believe that the God who gives the vision also gives the provision.
Philippians 1:6 reminds us:
“He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
Therefore, we will not despise the beginning.
Zechariah 4:10 says, “For who hath despised the day of small things?”
Today may begin with one foundation block, but we believe God is able to multiply our efforts until this entire project is completed.
A CALL TO UNITY AND PARTNERSHIP
This project will require all of us.
Some will contribute finances. Others will contribute materials. Some will give their skills, labour, prayers, encouragement, and time.
Every contribution made in faith matters.
1 Chronicles 29:9 tells us that the people rejoiced because they offered willingly to the Lord.
Let us therefore build together—not for the glory of an individual, but for the glory of God and for the advancement of His Kingdom.
A LEGACY FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS
What we are beginning today is bigger than our present generation.
There are people who have not yet been born who may one day worship God in this place. Children who are growing up today may become pastors, missionaries, teachers, worship leaders, and servants of God tomorrow.
May this building become a place where generations encounter God's Word and discover their purpose.
As Ezra 3:11 says, “And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the LORD...”
Today, therefore, we do not lay this foundation with fear. We lay it with faith.
We do not lay it with uncertainty. We lay it with confidence in God.
We do not lay it merely for ourselves. We lay it for the glory of God and for generations to come.
DECLARATION
As this foundation block is laid, we declare:
This foundation shall stand.
This project shall be completed.
Every provision required shall come forth.
Every willing hand shall be strengthened.
Every obstacle shall be overcome.
Every resource needed shall be supplied.
And above all, Jesus Christ shall remain the foundation and the centre of this house.
May this place become a house of prayer, a house of the Word, a house of worship, a house of salvation, a house of healing, a house of discipleship, and a house where lives are transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
CONCLUSION
Today, we celebrate a beginning.
The block we are about to lay may be only one block, but it represents faith, sacrifice, unity, vision, obedience, and hope.
Let us remember the words of Psalm 90:17:
“And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us.”
May God establish the work of our hands.
May He provide for every stage of construction.
May He bless everyone who contributes to this vision.
And may this building, when completed, stand as a lasting testimony that when God's people believe, unite, pray, give, and work together, great things can be accomplished for His glory.
To God our Father be all the glory!
Thank you, and God bless you.
