*Text: Ezekiel 36:26*

> _“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”_

Tonight God is not promising to repair your old heart. He is promising to REPLACE it.

Listen to me — many people are praying, “God change my husband, God change my wife, God change my boss.” But tonight God says, *“I will start with YOU. I will give YOU a new heart and a new spirit.”*

If your heart doesn’t change, your life will never change.

1. WHY WE NEED A NEW HEART AND NEW SPIRIT

God looks at 3 things:

*a) The heart of stone.*
A stone heart is:
- Hard — It hears the Word but never repents. Same sin for 10 years.
- Cold — No feeling for God, no tears in prayer, no compassion for people.
- Unmovable — Offense, unforgiveness, pride. You keep records of wrongs.

Many Christians come to church but their heart is still stone. They sing but they don’t worship. They hear but they don’t change. They are in church but church is not in them.

Jeremiah 17:9 — _“The heart is deceitful above all things.”_ Your biggest problem is not the devil outside, it’s the stone inside.

*b) The old spirit.*
Your spirit is what connects you to God. But after the fall, man’s spirit died. So we became controlled by flesh and mind. That’s why you easily get tired to pray, you easily believe gossip, you easily fall back.

*God says, “If I don’t change your heart, your behavior will never change. You will manage sin, but you will not overcome sin.”*

2. WHAT GOD PROMISES TO DO — “I WILL”

In Ezekiel 36:26, God says “I WILL” three times. This is not man’s work, it’s God’s work.

*a) I WILL GIVE YOU A NEW HEART.*
New heart in Hebrew is _Lev Chadash_ — a heart that is soft, responsive, alive.

What does a new heart do?
- It loves what God loves
- It hates what God hates
- It says YES to God quickly

David prayed in Psalm 51:10 after he sinned: _“

‎THEME: FIXING YOUR MARRIAGE GOD'S WAY

‎“It is not good for man to be alone.” Marriage was God's idea. And if God started it, only God can make it work.
‎Brothers and sisters, I will be very straight tonight. 3 points only.
‎
1. ‎MARRIAGE IS COVENANT, NOT CONTRACT
‎The world says, "If you do your part, I will do mine." That is contract.
‎God says, "I am yours even when you fail me." That is covenant.
‎
‎Malachi 2:14 says marriage is a covenant with God as witness. That means there are three in your marriage - husband, wife, and God.
‎
‎When God is out, marriage is hard. When God is in, there is grace.
‎
‎Many of you are fighting for your marriage with gossip, with shouting, with your family. Fight it with covenant - go back to the altar where you vowed.
‎
‎Ask yourself today: Am I treating my spouse like a contract partner or covenant partner?
‎
1. ‎GOD'S ORDER BRINGS PEACE - Ephesians 5:22,25
‎God did not give us same roles.
‎Wives - Your strength is not in shouting, it's in respect.
‎Submission is not slavery. It is putting yourself under God’s order so your home can have peace. A husband who feels disrespected will never open up. Proverbs says a wise woman builds her house.
‎
‎Husbands - Your duty is LOVE, not to be boss.
‎The Bible does not say "Husbands, control your wives." It says "LOVE your wives as Christ loved the church." Christ loved us when we were unlovable. He provided, He protected, He was faithful.
‎
‎ Husband, when last did you pray for your wife? When last did you say "thank you"?
‎
‎Listen to me: Wife needs love, husband needs respect. When you give what the other needs, you get what you need.
‎ PRAYER:
‎Father, in Jesus' Name, I surrender my marriage to You. Forgive me where I have been proud, where I have been neglectful. Tonight, I choose to love, I choose to forgive. I cast out every spirit of division, adultery, and strife out of my home. Let Your peace reign in my house. In Jesus

You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,

but showing love to a thousand [generations] of those who love me and keep my commandments.
