UCZ Western Presbytery Western is one of 10 Presbyteries of the UCZ. The main offices are in Mongu. It comprises of 21 Consistories many of which are rural in nature. Welcome!

We congratulate Rev. Chisha on his induction as minister in charge of Lilelelo Congregation which took place today in Mongu South Consistory.

You may be aware that Rev. Revious Siulapwa Chisha once served as Deacon in the then Mongu Consistory and was at Malengwa Congregation and was in charge of the first ever VCT centre at Lilelelo. Later on (three years ago), he went back to UCZ University College to pursue his ministerial BTh. Upon completion, he was stationed in Western Presbytery. Welcome back home Rev. Deac. Revious Chisha.

YOUTH ZONE MUSIC CONFERENCE AND PROMOTION – CHOIRS & PRAISE TEAMS

Happy New Year greetings in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

This serves to inform you that the this 2016 Choirs Music Promotions/Festival will be held in Zones as follows: Zone B from 7th to 10th April 2016 in Mwandi Consistory; Zone A from 29th April to 1st May 2016 in Kaoma Consistory. All groups to arrive at the venue on the stated dates.

Therefore take note of the following guidelines for both activities:
THEME: Youth with A Difference: Unleashing Our Potential. - 1 Tim. 4:12
1. Participation Fee per group K500.00 (K1, 000.00 for Hosting Groups)
2. Entry fee per participant is K20.00 (Conference Tag & Logistics inclusive);
3. Groups to provide and carry food, as their shall be no food prepared for any participant by the organizers;
4. Choirs/Praise Teams to be allowed participation in the Festival will be required to attend the first part which is Conference;
5. Each group to provide Ten (10) people to be on the panel of Bible Quiz which will be taken randomly from the books of the Bible;
6. Participating congregations to arrange for transport, sports jerseys, Drafts & Chess Boards and Footballs, Netballs, etc.
7. Individuals to carry note book, pens, beddings, toiletries, insect repellents (or mosquito nets), sporting attire, etc.;
8. All to be in uniforms throughout the event.
9. All payments should be done through Presbytery Main Account not later than 31st March for Zone B and 21st April for Zone A then send the deposit slip to Presbytery Youth Coordinator & Convenor indicating the name of Group and number of participants
10. No cash payments shall be made at the Conference venue.
11. 1st Song Compulsory: Choirs – Hymn 31 Lozi (2 stanzas); Praise – 67 Lozi (2 stanzas only);
12. 2nd Song: Composition on theme accompanied with instruments (no recorded music)
13. 3rd Song: Own Choice (Present the songs in THIS ORDER – DO NOT REARRANGE THEM)
14. No introductions shall be done on stage.
15. Only small Consistories will be allowed to participate as Consistory Choirs.
16. The UCZ Code of Conduct for discipline shall be used in case of any indiscipline during and after Festival. Any misconduct will result in instant disqualification of group.
17. Matrons/ Patrons and Youth Leaders should accompany their groups and be the spokespersons for any official communication to the organizers.
18. Participating group members should possess a 2016 Youth Rededication Card. No negotiations will be entertained.
19. Prizes will be given to deserving groups on merit of performance and improvement from previous festivals.
20. Still and Video Cameras will be allowed at a fee of K100.00 per camera. Non-negotiable!

1. REDEDICATIONS:
In case you have not yet received the letter, Kindly be informed that Rededications for the above named groups will take place in Consistories and not congregations as has been the case in the past. The rededication should be preceded by a call to Choirs and Praise Teams to renew their commitment to minister through (but not limited to) singing. The church workers or personnel delegated by Consistory Chairperson to conduct some lessons before the groups can be rededicated to God. Thereafter a detailed report be sent to Presbytery Youth Office.

Payments like last year, will be K15.00 per person broken down as follows: K5 card, K10 Assessments (Presbytery & Synod).

SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS: The Sunday School Teachers Refresher Course and Rededication will take place in Sesheke Consistory for Zone B from 25th to 27th March while Zone A will meet in Sefula Consistory from 15th to 17th April 2016.

Payments will be K15.00 for Rededication and K65.00 Refresher Course per person. These monies will be collected physically according to the nearest place and at least one of them should attend the rededication as follows: Livingstone West & East – Rev. W. Manda; Mwandi, Sesheke, Lipumpu & Mulobezi – Mrs. M. Ngula; Senanga through to Kalabo – Ms. Grace Nkole and Mr. Maurice Mukolima; and Kaoma – Mr. Sifali Kayoka. The same people mentioned will be in possession of cards so that immediately at rededication they are also given out.

Non remittance of Rededication fees shall result in the office bearer(s) involved being answerable to or disciplined by the Congregation Pastoral Committee on recommendation by Presbytery Office.

Finally, like always, we are asking your office to furnish the Presbytery Youth Office with statistics and names of leaders and their contacts.
