Good evening family, next week's lesson study is, "JESUS, AUTHOR & PERFECTER OF OUR FAITH."

Our study focus will be from Hebrews 11 & 12.

The two chapters describe the Christian life as a race in which we all participate, & in which all who stay faithful will receive the reward in the end.

Jesus seated at the goal line at the right hand of God, is providing inspiration as well as the ultimate example of how the race is run.

He is the ultimate Witness that the reward is true & that He is the Forerunner who opens the way for us(Heb.10:19-23).

Hebrews 11 encourages us to have faith through the examples of the past &looking unto Jesus as our example, the founder & perfecter of our faith(Heb.12:2).

God never asks us to believe, without giving sufficient evidence upon which to base our faith.
His existence, His character, the truthfulness of His word, are all established by testimony that appeals to our reason, & this testimony is abundant.

We will keep in memory Heb.12:2 as we study the lesson.
Other texts in the lesson are;
Heb.10:35-39,
Rom.1:17,
Heb.11, Joshua 2:9-11,
Heb.12:1-3.

Good night.

Good evening family, tonight's title is, "Take my Yoke Upon You."
Jesus after inviting us to cast our burdens on Him & have rest,
He now command us to take His Yoke upon Us& learn from Him.
Yes,Jesus places His Yoke on us so that our burdens are easier to Carry.
During the time of the Jews, they used the phrase Yoke for entering into submission to.
They spoke the Yoke of the law, the Yoke of the commandments, the Yoke of the kingdom, the Yoke of God.
Therefore, to take Christ's Yoke is to submit to His will.
When the Yoke was/is placed around the neck of an ox,the animal then submitted/Submits to the direction of it's master.
Same with us,the Yoke that Jesus places around our necks to unite us to Him fits well.
He becomes our partner in service&is Yoked with us.
Yoked with Jesus,we have the absolute assurance that He will strengthen us to bear any temptation, trial or tribulations that confronts us.
The rest that Christ give us is to have the assurance to defeat the challenges of our lives.
When we submit to Him, it means we will learn from Him too.
We are His disciples in His work.
Good night.

Good morning family, this week's lesson study is, "Come To Me."
Today let's start with the title, "I Will Give You Rest."
Reading Matt.11:20-28.
Jesus is inviting everyone, those who are tired, those who are heavy laden.
To come to Christ is to surrender our control,& let Him control our lives.
We can not save ourselves.
Christ is the one who will give us true rest.
Let cast our burdens on Him.
He desires to Carry our load.
Therefore, coming is a decision of the will.
Its a personal choice.
Jesus has given to each one of us freedom of choice.
He will not pressure on us to come.
He graciously invites us.
He impresses us with His Spirit to come.
We come in faith, believing that He is greater than the problem.
Yes,as said already, the heavier your burdens, the more blessed the rest in casting them upon the Burden Bearer.
He will give us rest for sure.
Good day

Good evening family, our theme for three months(July-Sept 2021), is, "REST IN CHRIST."
Brethren,it's important to understand the introduction before we get into the lesson study for the week.
And next we have a title, "COME TO ME."
A title drawn from Matt.11:28-30 is reminding us of our burdens that we have as individuals.
All of us have felt heavy-laden,all because of sin.
All of us are suffering on this earth, talk also of sicknesses, deaths etc.. All these have really distracted our peace.
But Christ has a wonderful promise to us all,He has enough room in Him to accommodate everyone.
He knows what we are going through, & yes,He can help us,that is if we let Him in.
He says,"Come to Me," because He is the source of our peace.
He is the Wellspring of our strength.
We will keep in memory Matt.11:28 as we study the lesson.
Other supporting texts;
Matt.5:5,Deut.18:15,Gal.5:1,Exod.18:13-22,Gal.6:2.
Good night.

Good evening family, this week's lesson study was entitled, "The Cost of Rest."
This week's lesson study focused on one of the saddest chapters in David's life,2Samuel 11.
The chapter gives us some insight how David the King of Israel abused his God given authority & led the wife of one of his soldiers into sin.
David got worn&weary because of sin.
His sin had Deadly consequences for sure.
The child he bore with Bathsheba died,
His son Amnon forced himself on his half sister Tamar&defiled her.
Absalom was murdered years later.
All these ruined David's life.
That is what sin does,it is serious like cancer.
David's heart was broken.
He was restless.
On the other hand, thanks to our lovely Father,God who can forgive a sinner.
Despite sin's consequences,God forgave David after his confession(Psalms 51).
This is extended to us,He can forgive you&me if we confess our sins.
He will rebuild our lives.
Good night.

21/07/2021

Good evening family, tonight we are looking at the title, "Something New."
Reading Psalms 51:1-12.
David confessed his sins,&petitioned God.
He asked God to purify him& recreate a new heart.
David realized the only way to cleanse his sins is through Jesus Christ who should come as a sacrifice for many(us).
He can not rely on his own anymore, but on God who gives joy&happiness.
When we read Psalms 51:11,we too can rely on God who will send us the Holy Spirit to change our hearts like David.
He(Holy spirit)is the own to lead us to sanctification,
He will make us new,
He will strengthen us to resist temptation,&
gives us rest.
David invited the Holy Spirit(v11),we too need the Holy Spirit to defeat the devil,&remain strong in Christ.
Good night.

20/07/2021

Good evening family, tonight we are looking at, "Forgiven & Forgotten."
Reading 2Sam.12:5,6,10-23.
Sin has consequences, though David was forgiven.
The sin of David led to the death of innocent people, the new born & Uriah.
We also see family troubles continuing(Amnon&Absalom).
That is what sin can do,it extend its damage to others.
On the other hand, repentance is so vital.
David repented & was forgiven.
He began to understand God's grace, sufficient enough to purge his sins,&
he realized his sins will be forgiven & forgotten(Psalms 51:1-6).
Our sins will be forgiven & forgotten no matter how huge they may be, His grace is greater than that sin.
Repentance is necessary for that salvation.
Good night.

18/07/2021

Good evening family, this week's lesson is entitled, "The Cost of Rest."
Tonight let's start with the title, "Worn&Weary."
Reading 2Sam.11:1-27.
The restless king, David's lustful look led to indulge into sin
He didn't fulfill his duty as a king.
He didn't turn away, but took pleasure in the temptations,&found the way to fulfill his desire(2Sam.11:2,3).
He sinned(v4),&
from the passage, it is seen that he tried to hide his sin by fooling a good man(V5-12).
His sin made things worse.
We see Uriah dying because of the king's lustful desire(v14-25).
He tried to hide(cover)his sin, even Uriah's death by marrying Bathsheba(v26,27).
He was worn &weary, that is what sin does, not until we find Christ's grace.
Good night.

15/07/2021

Good morning family, we continue looking at the Roots of Restlessness.
Todag we are looking at, "Hypocrisy."
Reading Matt. 23:1-13.
Jesus publicly shamed the Pharisees & Scribes for playacting.
They were pretending to be good, but were not(Matt.6:2,5,16; Matt.7:).
According to Jesus, we are hypocrites if we don't do what we say(Matt. 15:7-9).
Jesus' confrontation was out of love.
We are not allowed to pretend to be holy, when we are sinners.
We don't need to hide our sins through our religious practices or self exaltation.
Let's focus on Jesus' cross to avoid self exaltation.
He humbled Himself,&that means a lot for you & me.
Pleasant day

13/07/2021

Good evening family, tonight we are looking at, "Ambition."
Reading Luke 22:14-30.
The passage bring to our attention how ambitious Jesus' disciples were.
Yes,it was during the Last supper,at one of the most solemn moments in human history, the disciples were still debating who would be the greatest in the kingdom.
On the eve of Christ's betrayal & trial, they still believed He was going to establish an early kingdom, & if He was, they wanted first place in this new kingdom.
The disciples did not understand the spiritual truth because they were blinded by ambition.
Christ brought an object lesson to them of how Christianity should be(Matt. 18:1-3; 20:20-28),not coveting great things in this life.
We are to trust God&depend on Him like a child, let Him take full control of our lives so that we abandon our wrong ambitions, only be led by Him all the time.
Good night.

05/07/2021

Good evening brothers & sisters, tonight's lesson study is entitled, "Its Contagious."
Reading Numbers 12:1-13.
Fear is contagious.
The above passage has a story of Moses, his wife(Cush*te or Midian woman, a foreigner), Aaron&Miriam.
Miriam & Aaron were unhappy about Moses' Cush*te wife, or Midian(Exod.3:1),a foreigner as they had put it.
The two(Miriam & Aaron) had a complaint.
The main focus of their complaint is about the prophetic gift.
In Numbers 11:16,17,24,25,God had told Moses to appoint 70 of Israel's elders who would help Moses carry out administrative burden of leadership.
On the other side, Aaron &Miriam had roles to play as leaders.
Now,the two used Moses' marriage with a foreigner as an excuse to claim a position that did not correspond to them.
Miriam became leprous because of opposing God.
From this we can learn that, criticizing the leadership God has appointed is dangerous.
Fear brought restless to them.
Good enough, in the end Aaron repented& pleaded for the leprous sister,&Moses interceding on her behalf (Num.12:11-13).
Interceding is powerful than critics.
Good night.

27/06/2021

Our twenty first century is filled with the restless people.
They need to have a rest.

We are busy & at the same time, depressed people.
Yes we can not rest, but Christ has the necessary rest.
The lesson will take us way back to the creation week where our Creator did everything according to His plan,&in the end He rested to remind us the need to rest.
We will keep in memory psalms 84:2 as we study the lesson for the week.
