A senior official in the Seventh Day Adventist Church has advised Christians to remove the attitude of self centeredness because God is for everyone.
Speaking during a board members seminar for board members from various SDA churches in Mazabuka District at Kaonga SDA Church last Saturday, Union secretary Pastor Van Munyumbwe said there should never be a time when Christians should advocate regionalism.
Dr. Munyumbwe said the SDA Church believes in putting resources together so that the work of God can be spearheaded even in areas where there is poverty. "The Church is supporting ten (10) districts whose churches cannot pay pastors, what do you think would have been happening if resources were not pulled together?" Dr. Munyumbwe asked.
He says even in community projects such as schools, all SDA churches must support the idea put forward by one church so that the project can be effectively run.
Dr. Munyumbwe said running a school is not cheap, hence the need for the church to pull resources together so that they can be able to pay for teachers and the support staff.
The Union secretary says situations where some church members feel that they must only have workers from their region must not be entertained because it is retrogressive and divisive.
