THE PARABLE OF THE SOWER; Matthew 13:3-23,
Our Lady of Assumption Parish Mazabuka
Jesus tells of a sower who scatters seed on 4 types of ground:
1. Path - The seed is taken away. Some hear Godโs word but donโt understand it, and distractions steal it.
2. Rocky soil - It grows fast but has no root. Some receive it with joy, but when trouble comes, they fall away.
3. Thorns - It grows but gets choked. Worries, riches, and pleasures crowd out Godโs word.
4. Good soil - It grows and produces a crop. This is the person who hears, accepts, and lives out Godโs word with patience.
THE SOWER is GOD โ He keeps scattering His word generously, no matter what ground it lands on.
The question isnโt about the seed. Itโs about the soil of our hearts.
ASK YOURSELF;
Am I like the path, too distracted to listen?
Am I like rocky soil, excited but shallow?
Am I like thorns, letting stress and things choke my faith?
Or am I good soil โ hearing, holding on, and letting Godโs word grow fruit in my life?
Godโs word doesnโt fail. But it needs a willing, open, and patient heart to grow.
TAKEAWAY: Letโs keep cultivating our hearts through prayer, obedience, and not letting the world crowd God out.
