DEVOTION
We are God's temple, created by the Father, redeemed by the Son, and indwelt by the Holy Spirit. As Christians, we are called to take care of our bodies and use them to glorify God, for we have been set free from the slavery of sin through Christ's blood.

VERSE
Psalms 119:18 (KJV) Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.

INSPIRATION
The Bible is full of references to ‘eyes’, of the Lord making the world ‘visible’ to his followers. On the other hand, many who do not follow are often ‘blind’ or ‘blinded’, often by sin or emotions. This simple passage of course is not intended literally, for after the Fall and our entry into sin, our nature has been continually towards that of a state of blindness, towards having had a veil placed over our eyes. Even in our daily life, it is hard not to choose the comfort of ignorance. But we cannot allow ourselves to be blinded, we cannot permit willful ignorance, for God knows these as self-deceptions. Instead, pray to make a change, to look at the world as it is presented, not as how you would wish it -for this is to become blind.

PRAYER
Heavenly Lord, I pray for thee to open my eyes to the world and Your divine Law. Show me the path towards light and truth, and allow me not to obscure this with my own will. Grant me Your wisdom, to comprehend the world beyond my own wants, and give me Lord, courage. For in order to serve You I must first see, and after seeing You, I will finally be able to truly serve. I ask this in the name of Christ Almighty, Amen.

VERSE
1 Peter 5:6-7 (KJV) Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

INSPIRATION
In your relationships around you, think; do you put in as much as the other party? Do you care for them as much as they care for you? One hopes so, but its part and parcel of human being to feel insecure or hurt if we suspect others are not returning our affections, or matching our investment in either time and energy. God however, has already given us more than we can ever hope to repay. He has given His only begotten son, His eternal love and a commitment to stay by our side through the high and the low. We can never hope to repay this debt, yet He still loves and gives. We could never hope to match His sacrifice, yet He still keeps on showing us grace, so rejoice in him!

PRAYER
Dear God my Almighty Loving Father, I long to enter into Your Heavenly Paradise, to bathe in Your embrace and compassion. I vow to give my heart over to You, even if I can never hope to repay the sacrifice You have made for me, even if I can never hope to match Your infinite grace. I am therefore Your humblest servants Lord, thanking you for Your love even if I am not worthy. Hallowed be Your name. Amen.

Proverbs 3:21-22 (KJV) My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:
So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.

INSPIRATION
We should keep wisdom – godly wisdom – and discretion close to our hearts. The world is full of devices of deception; as Christians, we have to stay alert. God’s wisdom shows us the way to go and all the things to turn away from and avoid. We will find life in God’s counsel and nowhere else; we must cling to it, never wanting to let go.

PRAYER
Dear God, may I always desire to hear and be attentive to your wisdom. Lord, I am aware that this world is full of deception, but you have equipped me with the wisdom to overcome all traps. Father, may I always seek you for discernment in all situations. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

VERSE

Hebrews 12:2 (KJV) Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

INSPIRATION

I honestly believe that the world is in a state of crisis right now. There are more and more people turning away from God, and because of this, the hero that has sustained peace and love for thousands of years does not have the same reach that he once did. There is a hero vacuum, and people are looking for other places to live vicariously, wishing that they could be more like a superhero or a celebrity. We should all already have our superhero. He lived and died for our sins; he bore a cross in shame; he sits at the right hand of his Father, God in heaven. Do not look for other heroes when the mightiest of all already exists!

PRAYER

Jesus, my hero and savior, why have I ever looked at other sources for motivation? Forgive me for this transgression. I am weak and did not fully think through my actions, unlike the actions of Christ. Precious Jesus, you knew the suffering and shame that you would endure on the cross, and you were still willing to bear it so that I could live. With this prayer I shall honor your suffering. I shall honor your life and death. I promise that I will do all in my power to spread the love that I have for you with others so that they may feel the same. I pray this in your holy name, Jesus Christ, my love, finisher of faith, and hero. Amen.
