*IT'S BETTER TO SUBSIDIZE EDUCATION AND HEALTH SECTOR THAN FUEL*
====================

Under the New Dawn Administration, Zambians have an opportunity to know where the funds saved from the removal of fuel subsidies is being channeled.Atleast today Zambians are aware that the saved fund is being applied towards educating our children.Technically, the New Dawn Administration will be subsidizing us parents with school going children from grade one to twelve.Apart from free education, the money saved from removal of fuel subsidies will also be re-located towards employing and maintaining 30,000 teachers of which most of them have not been in employment for the entire Edgar Lungu's PF administration.
On top of this, fuel subsidies savings will also be re-directed towards employing and maintaining 11,200 health workers.
Contrast this type of priorities to the PF administration where we used to subsidise cadres and musicians and parties after parties at state house.
Today citizens are debating whether to subsidy fuel or to subsidy education and health.
There's no parent who's been struggling with school fees during the PF government who can complain of re-directing subsidies from fuel to free education.Neither is there a parent who's child graduated as a teacher or health worker but has been out of employment for many years can join in condemning the re-directing of fuel subsidies towards employing his child.
It is amazing that there are a few citizens who can complain when money is moved from subsidizing fuel to subsidising education and health.
This is what the PF should have been doing when they were in government since they used to claim that they were pro-poor.... moving resources to help the poor by subsidizing free education!
Critics of removal of fuel subsidies have no idea how much relief this "free education" will bring to many households especially in low income families.
It is now very clear that what was lacking during the PF administration was priorities,it was chipante-pante type of economics without clear direction.
If the PF thinks Zambians will join them into their lamentations then they need to re-examine their strategy
*I submit* .
