Sabbath Service Report .. 14th March 2026
Luwingu District*
Seventh-day Adventist Church
On Sabbath, 14tbh March 2026, the Luwingu mission District Seventh-day Adventist Church was blessed to have the sermon delivered by the District Pastor, *Pastor Kataba.*
The message was drawn from the book of Genesis, focusing on the story of Lot’s wife, who turned into a pillar of salt after looking back while escaping from the destruction of S***m and Gomorrah. The pastor emphasized that as Christians, we should not focus on things that only bring temporary happiness in this world, but rather focus on the things that prepare us for eternal life. He explained that Lot’s wife looked back because her heart was still attached to the things of the past, and this serves as a warning to believers to remain focused on God and the path of salvation.
During the same Sabbath, a baptismal service was conducted, with candidates from Luwingu Central SDA Church and other churches within the district taking part. The event was a joyful moment for the church as members witnessed this important spiritual commitment.
In addition, there was an ordination of elders. In his counsel to the elders, Pastor Kataba encouraged them to faithfully care for the members under their leadership. He also reminded them of the importance of taking good care of their wives and families. Furthermore, he encouraged them to ensure that their homes remain welcoming places, reflecting Christian love, unity, and hospitality.
The Sabbath service was spiritually uplifting and a great blessing to the congregation, strengthening the faith and commitment of the members in their walk with God.
