*MORNING DEVOTION*

*Faith needs action*

Many of us are afraid to start. I remember I was too. Especially when it’s something nobody else around you has done before. It may be starting a business, or perhaps you are the first in your family to go to school/university. However if we have faith that God will bring us through, we have to have Faith enough to take the first step.

Chapter 3 of 2Kings is where we find the three kings of Israel, Judah, and Edom joining forces to fight a war they thought they could easily win, but things didn’t go as planned.

The kings then ask Elisha for help in their fight. The answer Elisha gives the kings is not what they expected. Elisha tells them (in the King James Version) to go and dig ditches and that God will fill the ditches with water, which will nourish the troops and their cattle. If they do this, Elisha tells the kings that God will deliver Moab into their hands. The kings likely found Elisha’s request a bit ridiculous, but they believed in God’s promise and did as they were told.

This story is all about faith. Only God can send the water, but he wants you to dig the ditches. If you want to see some water in your life, then dig a ditch. Real faith works and believes big, but you must be willing to start small.

*The size of your vision isn’t intimidating to God* Many don’t think big enough, but even more won’t start small. How do you dig a ditch? Take your “shovel” and hit the ground one “shovel” at a time. You can’t expect God to give you big things if you won’t start small. Believe big. Start small. Put your faith into action by digging some ditches.

What’s a big vision you have that you need God’s help in accomplishing? What small ditches might you need to dig to begin the process of making that vision a reality? Perhaps it may be going back to school, starting that business or even applying for that job.. whatever it is let us put our faith into action and be willing to start small .

“I will break his yoke from your neck and tear off your chains…”

Jeremiah 30:8

_He Tears Off Chains_ 🏋️💪

We sometimes wonder why we can’t get ahead, why we can’t break an addiction, or why we can’t control our temper. It’s easy think, “I’ll never control my anger. I’ll never break this bad habit. I’ll never get ahead in my career.” *But you were not created to be bound, whether by loneliness, by shame, or by negative words spoken over you.*

Yes, there are forces trying to hold you back, _but the forces for you are greater than the forces against you._
No chain is too much for our God. No addiction is too great, no cancer too big, no enemy too powerful, no person too strong. God controls the universe. If God can’t break the chain, He’ll tear the whole thing off. The Scripture says you can run through a troop and leap over a wall. If God doesn’t remove the obstacle, don’t worry, He’ll take you over it. He knows how to get you to your destiny. Know Him as the One who tears off your chains.
