🔥 NEW BLOOD, NEW FIRE: 8 RECRUITS IGNITE CHAWAMA CITADEL

Eight new warriors have risen to the call, joining the Army as Soldiers of the Cross. Chawama Citadel CO, Major Dorothy Hangoma, welcomed 8 brave recruits to the ranks of The Salvation Army. Six of the new soldiers are female, and two are male, symbolizing the diverse and inclusive nature of God's Kingdom.

Major Hangoma thanked Assistant Corps Treasurer, Choolwe Kaponda, who also serves as Recruiting Sergeant, for preparing the recruits. She drew inspiration from Ephesians 6:10-18, urging the recruits to focus on Jesus amidst challenges. "Be strong in the Lord, and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil," she quoted, adding, "To be enrolled is not an easy journey; people will talk, but focus on Jesus. Your uniform reminds you that you are a child of God, clothed in the armour of God."

Mrs. Malayo Chilufya Kaponda shared a heartfelt testimony, expressing her excitement to join The Salvation Army family. "A transition from my former Church (The Baptist) because of marriage was hard, but it's exciting and amazing to be a uniformed soldier of The Salvation Army."

The ceremony also saw the reinstatement of Ms. Doris Hamayobe as a soldier, who returned to Chawama Citadel after a period away in Kabwe.

Major Hangoma said, "Everything you have belongs to God. Lead by example in giving and Church activities. Welcome the new recruits with kindness."

🚨😂 DON'T MISS THE BOAT, YOUNG PEOPLE! 🚣‍♀️

In a fiery sermon at the crossover night prayers, Captain Maluza Hangoma urged young people to seize opportunities and ditch their bad attitudes. Speaking under the theme "Possessing Seasons with Divine Authority", he lamented that young people were missing golden opportunities due to their attitude.

"When the service ends, don't rush home quickly," he advised young ladies. "Hang around, meet people and interact. It's here you will find good young men to marry you 😅🤣😂. Be there looking bright, greet your fellow young men, smile at them and present yourself nicely." And remember, seasons are crucial - you might meet a season to marry a fellow young person, don't miss it and end up with a retiree 😂👀

Captain Maluza also took a jab at young men who turn down job opportunities with salaries as low as K1,500. "Where do you want to start from?" he asked. "Let's discern, take up challenges, take hold of seasons, and utilise them, and see ourselves grow."

The congregation was in stitches as Captain Maluza shared his humorous yet poignant examples, leaving the audience with valuable lessons to ponder 😂👏

The message was clear: it's time for young people to wake up, be confident and seize the opportunities that come their way 💪

The atmosphere was electric as Captain Maluza invited the duo to greet the congregation, prompting an eruption of song as the congregation broke into Captain Shadreck's popular chorus, "I have a very big God on my side". Captain Shadreck expressed his gratitude, stating, "Chawama is home, and we missed it".

Captain Vimbai was also met with enthusiasm, as the congregation spontaneously sang her favourite Shona chorus, "Mululu...", before she could speak. The night culminated in warm greetings and hugs as congregants welcomed the visiting officers.

🔥 C.O URGES CONGREGATION TO REFLECT AND PREPARE FOR NEW YEAR

In a powerful kneel drill (devotion) on the last Sunday of the year, Captain Maluza Hangoma led the congregation in a reflective journey, urging them to prepare themselves for the upcoming year. Quoting from 1 Samuel 7:3, Captain Maluza emphasized the importance of returning to God with all one's heart and ridding oneself of distractions and idols.

"We must prepare ourselves for the new year," Captain Maluza said. "God prepares us for transition, and it's time for us to reflect on our lives and remove the baggage that's holding us back."

Captain Maluza highlighted the importance of forgiveness, humility and serving God alone. He warned against allowing bad habits, such as short temper and judging others, to hinder progress.

"Let's learn to talk to people nicely, stop judging and give them a listening ear," he said. "A true believer must be humble, and we must seek the Lord and allow Him to guide us."

Captain Maluza encouraged the congregation to reflect on their lives, asking themselves questions like "How have I lived?" and "What has weighed me down?"

As the congregation prepares to welcome a new year, Captain Maluza reminded them that God is ready to serve, but they must be ready and prepared themselves.

The kneel drill ended with a call to prayer, urging the congregation to ask God for forgiveness and guidance as they enter the new year.
