AWANA LUSAKA BIBLE QUIZ COMPETITION
On 5th April 2025, Awana Lusaka successfully hosted a Bible Quiz competition at Champion Worship Center. The event drew participation from five churches: Redeemed Church, Champion Worship Center, Lilanda CMML, Apostolic Faith and Acts Church, and Salvation and Truth Church. This gathering not only showcased the enthusiasm for biblical knowledge but also fostered a sense of community among the participating churches.
The competition was keenly contested, with each church demonstrating a strong understanding of biblical teachings. In the end, Lilanda CMML emerged victorious with an impressive 946 points, securing the first position. They were closely followed by Apostolic Faith and Acts Church, who took the second position with 888 points. Redeemed Christian Army came in third with 818 points, while Champion Worship Center secured the fourth position with 740 points. Salvation and Truth Church finished fifth with 670 points.
The event was well-attended, with a total of 135 clubbers and 35 leaders present. This turnout highlighted the growing interest in Bible knowledge and the importance of such events in fostering spiritual growth among young people. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and harmony, as participants and spectators alike celebrated the joy of learning and sharing biblical truths.
In his closing remarks, Pastor Mtonga the Awana southern region missionary emphasized the growth of Awana beyond Lusaka, noting its expansion into Eastern and Southern Provinces. He encouraged the ministry team to take a proactive role in spearheading future activities, stating: "Awana is growing not only in Lusaka but also in Eastern Province and Southern Province. As a ministry team, you need to take the front role in spearheading the activities." This call to action underscored the importance of continued engagement and leadership in promoting Awana's mission.
The Awana District Chairperson, Uncle Paul Tembo, also addressed the gathering, expressing gratitude to all participating churches for their involvement in this year's Bible Quiz. He urged the leaders present to begin preparations for upcoming events, emphasizing the need for continued participation and engagement. This message reinforced the collaborative spirit that defines Awana's efforts to promote biblical knowledge and community building.
The event was a resounding success, marking another milestone in Awana's ongoing mission of discipleship and evengalism.
