๐ฅ PENTECOST SUNDAY โ Come, Holy Spirit! ๐๏ธ
โThey were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim.โ
โ Acts 2:4
Fifty days after Easter, the Church celebrates Pentecost โ the day the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples like tongues of fire, transforming a small, frightened group locked behind closed doors into bold, fearless witnesses of the Gospel.
Think about that for a moment. These were the same men who had hidden in fear after the crucifixion. And yet, when the Spirit came, everything changed. Fear gave way to courage. Silence gave way to proclamation. Division gave way to unity โ because people from every nation heard the Word of God in their own language. ๐
Todayโs Gospel (John 20:19-23) reminds us that the Risen Jesus didnโt wait for His disciples to be โready.โ He walked into their locked room, into their fear and anguish, breathed on them and said: โPeace be with youโฆ Receive the Holy Spirit.โ
He does the same for us today.
We all have rooms we lock โ rooms of fear, of doubt, of past wounds. But the Holy Spirit does not need a key. He comes where He is invited, and He sets us free. ๐
Today, ask yourself:
๐ What locked room in my heart do I need the Holy Spirit to enter?
๐ Am I open to being transformed, or am I too comfortable with my fears?
Come, Holy Spirit. Renew the face of the earth โ beginning with me. ๐
Happy Pentecost Sunday! Lord, send out Your Spirit, and renew the face of the earth. Alleluia! ๐๐๏ธ๐ฅ
