Gospel of the Day (Matthew 13,24-43)

Jesus proposed a parable to the crowds. "The kingdom of heaven may be likened to a man who sowed good seed in his field. While everyone was asleep his enemy came and sowed weeds all through the wheat, and then went off.
When the crop grew and bore fruit, the weeds appeared as well.
The slaves of the householder came to him and said, 'Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? Where have the weeds come from?'
He answered, 'An enemy has done this.' His slaves said to him, 'Do you want us to go and pull them up?'
He replied, 'No, if you pull up the weeds you might uproot the wheat along with them.
Let them grow together until harvest; then at harvest time I will say to the harvesters, "First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles for burning; but gather the wheat into my barn."'"
He proposed another parable to them. "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a person took and sowed in a field.
It is the smallest of all the seeds, yet when full-grown it is the largest of plants. It becomes a large bush, and the 'birds of the sky come and dwell in its branches.'"
He spoke to them another parable. "The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed with three measures of wheat flour until the whole batch was leavened."
All these things Jesus spoke to the crowds in parables. He spoke to them only in parables,
to fulfill what had been said through the prophet: "I will open my mouth in parables, I will announce what has lain hidden from the foundation of the world."
Then, dismissing the crowds, he went into the house. His disciples approached him and said, "Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field."
He said in reply, "He who sows good seed is the Son of Man,
the field is the world, the good seed the children of the kingdom. The weeds are the children of the evil one,
and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.
Just as weeds are collected and burned (up) with fire, so will it be at the end of the age.
The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will collect out of his kingdom all who cause others to sin and all evildoers.
They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.
Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears ought to hear."

As the Church gathers around the altar today, let us answer the Lord's invitation with humble and grateful hearts.

Come, adore the Lamb of God, listen to His Word, and receive the Bread of Life, for there is no greater encounter than the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

May Christ truly present in the Holy Eucharist strengthen and renew your soul.

At the heart of today's Gospel is a beautiful truth: God reveals Himself not to the proud, but to those who approach Him with humble and trusting hearts.

In the midst of this busy day, take a moment to pause and ask the Lord for the grace to see with the eyes of faith. The greatest treasures of the Kingdom are often revealed in the quiet moments we spend with Him.

🙏 Blessed are You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth. Open our hearts to receive Your truth with humility and childlike trust.

When things seem out of control... Run to Mom.

Finding Peace in the Arms of Our Heavenly Mother

When life spins out of control — when our minds are clouded with anxiety, our hearts weighed down by sorrow, and our days filled with uncertainty — the words “Run to Mom” remind us of a sacred refuge: the embrace of our Blessed Mother, Mary.

Mary is not a distant figure but a tender, understanding Mother who knows our struggles. She faced fear, confusion, and grief herself — from the moment she accepted God’s will at the Annunciation, to the foot of the Cross where she watched her Son suffer. Yet, through it all, she trusted fully in God’s plan. That same steadfast faith is what she longs to share with each of us.

When we bring our tears and troubles to her, she gently takes them to her Son, Jesus. No prayer whispered to Mary ever goes unheard. Her intercession is powerful because her heart is perfectly united with the Heart of Christ.

Running to Mary doesn’t mean we run away from our problems; it means we run toward the one who leads us straight to Jesus — the source of all peace. Under her mantle, we find safety, comfort, and renewed strength to face life’s challenges with grace.

So, the next time your heart feels heavy or your world feels unsteady, remember:
When things seem out of control… Run to Mom.
She will hold you close, whisper peace to your soul, and guide you back to her Son’s love.

Some souls have finished their earthly journey, but they still await the fullness of Heaven.

Today, offer a Rosary, attend Holy Mass, or simply pray an Eternal Rest for the faithful departed. No prayer offered in love is ever wasted.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.
