Choosing the Pathway of Light: Overcoming the Trap of "Earthly Desires"
Beloved in Christ,
Today, lets all direct our attention to the message encapsulated in the image before you. It is a visual parable, a profound reminder of the spiritual landscape we navigate daily. This message is not meant to condemn you, but to empower you with the truth that sets us free.
The central truth we face is this: "It is the nature of men to walk contrary to the will of God."
This is the 'human condition' that Apostle Howard BK speaks of. Since the Fall in Eden, our 'default setting' often leans toward what feels good or seems successful in the eyes of the world. The image illustrates this perfectly. On the one side (the dark, stormy left), is the arduous climb: the 'Stairway to Light.' It requires effort, commitment, and often goes 'against the grain.' But on the other side (the alluring, brightly lit city of 'Earthly Desires'), we see the objects that so easily capture our hearts: the Gucci and Hennessy bottles, the stacks of money, the luxury cars.
These are not inherently evil things, but they become deadly 'legal rights' for the enemy when they take precedence over God in our lives. The image correctly states: "This is what gives the enemy a legal right upon our lives." When we prioritize material gain (the pile of money) or human desires (the luxury items) over God, we step off the narrow path and onto the broad, easy path that leads to destruction.

1. The Power of "No" to the Natural Mind
First, be encouraged! You do not have to be a victim of your 'natural mind.' While it is the "nature" of man to go astray, we are no longer just "natural" men.
Bible Example: Consider Jesus Christ in the wilderness temptation (Matthew 4:1-11). The enemy offered Him 'Earthly Desires'—absolute control over the kingdoms of the world, instant gratification (food), and instant fame (jumping off the temple). Every single offer was an attempt to get Jesus to walk contrary to the Will of God (the difficult path to the Cross).

Scripture to Hold Onto:
"For the mind-set of the flesh is hostile to God because it does not submit to God's law, for it is unable to do so. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God." (Romans 8:7-8, CSB)

The goal is to move from the 'mind-set of the flesh' to the 'mind-set of the Spirit.'

2. Guarding the 'Legal Access' Points
The image reminds us that our choices create 'legal access' points for the enemy. How does this happen? Through the priority of desires. The stack of cash and the luxury car represent what Apostle John described as "the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and the pride of life."
Bible Example: Think of Achan (Joshua 7). After the victory at Jericho, God explicitly forbid the taking of any Babylonian spoils. But Achan, seeing beautiful clothes and gold, allowed the 'desires of his eyes' to dictate his action. That one act—prioritizing earthly desires over the Will of God—gave the enemy a legal right to bring defeat upon the entire nation of Israel until the 'legal access' (the cursed items in Achan's tent) was removed.

Scripture to Hold Onto:
> "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places." (Ephesians 6:12, ESV)

The true battle isn't with the car or the money; it's with the spiritual pull behind them. Guard your heart, and you close the door to the enemy.

3. Stepping Onto the Stairway of the "Will of God"
The encourage message is this: You can choose the path.
Look at the Stairway to Light in the image. It leads out of the darkness and storm of a confused mind into the radiant, peaceful light of God's presence. But look closely—it is one step at a time. Apostle Howard BK’s message isn’t about instant perfection, but about an intentional, directional shift.
Bible Example: Consider Moses. Hebrews 11 tells us he could have lived a life of ultimate 'Earthly Desire' (the luxuries and position of Pharaoh's house). But he chose "rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin." He valued the 'Will of God' (the Stairway to Light) more than the 'Earthly Desires' (the temporary gold and power of Egypt).

Scripture to Hold Onto:
> "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you." (James 4:7-8a, KJV)

Resisting the devil (represented by the pull of the dark city) is only effective when you have first submitted to God (stepped onto His stairway). Drawing near to God is the daily, intentional step-by-step climb.
Your Encouragement Charge
Don't be discouraged when you feel the pull of "Earthly Desires." It’s our natural heritage! But your spiritual heritage—your inheritance as a child of God—is to reign over it.
Today, make a conscious decision:
* Acknowledge that you naturally drift toward the city lights.
* Renounce the 'legal right' you may have given the enemy by prioritizing material gain or worldly desire.
* Step intentionally onto the "Stairway to Light"—the Will of God.
Remember, that Stairway isn't empty. The Bible, the 'open book' at the bottom of the image, is your map, and the Spirit of God is your guide. Every time you choose prayer over entertainment, or generosity over greed, you are taking another step up toward that radiant light, removing the enemy's legal standing in your life.
Your path is up, towards the glory! Step by step, you can overcome

PRAYER
Father, in the name of Jesus,
I surrender my will to You.
Forgive me for every moment I have chosen my desires above Your Word. Forgive me for every compromise, every disobedience, every wrong decision and every attitude that has taken me away from Your purpose.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.
Give me the strength to resist temptation. Give me wisdom to recognize every wrong door. Give me courage to walk away from relationships, habits, environments and desires that are contrary to Your will.
Close every door that should not be open in my life, and give me grace to walk through every door that You have ordained.
I refuse to be controlled by earthly desires.
I choose Your will.
I choose Your Word.
I choose holiness.
I choose obedience.
I choose Christ.
Where I have fallen, restore me.
Where I have been weak, strengthen me.
Where I have been confused, guide me.
Where I have been wounded, heal me.
Where I have lost direction, lead me.
And let my life become a testimony of Your mercy and restoration.

1. Defining the Glory of God
Visible Manifestation: The glory of God is the tangible, visible demonstration of His infinite power. It represents the sum total of everything God is—His full character, nature, and attributes revealed.
Beyond Miracles: Moses and Israel experienced extraordinary miracles—manna from heaven, the parting of the Red Sea, and divine protection—yet Moses recognized that these manifestations were distinct from the full glory of God. Despite walking in signs and wonders, Moses requested: "Show me Your glory."
What Resides in the Glory: Scripture reveals that within the glory of God, there is divine goodness, the revelation of His name, righteous judgment, and profound compassion and mercy.

2. The Face of God is His Glory
The Desire to See the Source: From his initial encounter at the burning bush, Moses experienced God’s power and voice, but not His face. Moses sought the glory so he could know the Person behind the miracles.
The Shield of Mercy: God informed Moses that no man could see His face and live. Therefore, He placed Moses in the cleft of the rock, covered him with His hand as His glory passed by, and revealed His back.
The Revelation: The glory of God is fundamentally linked to His face and presence—a direct revelation that human limitation cannot fully comprehend (whether manifested as the Lamb, the Lion, or the Son of Man). It was this very "face" or form that caused many to misapprehend Him when He appeared in human history.

3. Jesus: The Personification of Glory
The Image of the Invisible God (Colossians 1:15): Jesus Christ is the exact image and physical representation of the unseen God.
The Word Made Flesh (John 1:14): When the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, humanity witnessed the literal glory of God. Wherever Jesus walked, mercy manifested, healings occurred, and deliverance took place because He carried the direct presence of the Father.

4. Walking in and Manifesting the Glory
Consciousness of the Indwelling Presence: As a believer, you carry the glory of God. Wherever you step, environments shift, situations submit, and God’s mercy is made evident.
Spiritual Alertness: Guard your conduct and character. Ensure that your actions, words, and attitudes align with the glory you carry, avoiding anything contrary to His nature.
Creation Awaits Your Manifestation: The world is waiting for the revealed sons and daughters of God. Step out of living under the enemy's oppression and walk in confidence, boldness, and spiritual authority.
Alignment and Transformation: God satisfies spiritual desire. You must align your inner posture and outward demeanor with what you desire from Him.
Honoring Your Calling: Invest in who God has called you to be. Recognize the power of God's Word to transform your life, break generational cycles, and establish your identity as a carrier of His presence. Walk with the assurance that the face of the Lord shines upon you.

A Word for This Week: Strength in Every Storm

Beloved church family,

As we step into this new week, some of us are stepping into it tired. Tired from bills that won't stop coming, tired from minds that won't stop racing, tired from bodies that haven't felt whole in a while. If that's you this morning, this word is for you.

Philippians 4:13 says, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Notice Paul didn't say "I can do all things because I feel strong." He wrote those words from a prison cell — broke, uncertain, and physically confined. His strength wasn't circumstantial. It was supplied.

To the one struggling financially: God sees every unpaid bill, every anxious calculation, every sleepless night over money. You are not forgotten. Philippians 4:19 reminds us that "God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory." Your provision may not come the way you expect, but it will come. Keep trusting, keep working, keep giving what you can — even lack can be an altar of faith.

To the one struggling mentally: Depression, anxiety, overwhelming thoughts — these do not disqualify you from God's strength; they qualify you for His nearness. Psalm 34:18 says the Lord is close to the brokenhearted. It's okay to seek counsel, to seek help, to say "I'm not okay." Strength through Christ often looks like reaching out, not just holding on alone.

To the one struggling with health: Whether it's your body or the body of someone you love, sickness can make faith feel heavy. But His strength is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). You don't have to feel strong to be held. Healing may come today, gradually, or fully in eternity — but His presence walks with you through all of it.

Church, this week, let's carry one another. Check in on the quiet ones. Pray for the ones who smile through pain. And to every person carrying something heavy right now — you are not alone, you are not forgotten, and you are not without strength, because that strength was never yours to manufacture. It's His to supply.

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Not because the hard things disappear — but because He is greater than every one of them.

As you begin this week, shift your focus from the overwhelming size of your mountains to the infinite strength of the One walking beside you. Take this week one day, one hour, and one breath at a time. Rely on His power, rest in His love, and let the church community wrap around you in prayer and support.

Introduction: Why We Need Faith

You cannot believe God without faith. There are many challenges in this world, but we must learn to walk by faith.
The devil is still, to this day, trying to persecute the children of God.
The faith of many today has become fragile — some even measure the hand of God by what is currently happening in their lives.
Many insult their own faith and, in doing so, turn against God.
There is an "evil day," and no one is exempted from it. This is why the Bible instructs us to equip ourselves with the full armour of God.
Your faith must have enough "muscle" to help you overcome whatever befalls you on the evil day.
Many believe all they need is hard work or money — but without God, all of this is useless.
When the day of evil comes, only God can save you, and your faith must be solid.
What physical effort cannot accomplish, the help of the Holy Spirit can.
Ask yourself: How much do you trust and believe in God? How much you know of God is what will sustain you in hard times.
The Most Holy Faith
Scripture: Jude 1:20–22
There is a faith described as "the most holy faith." Three keys to building it:

1. Pray in the Spirit
Praying in the spirit builds and charges your faith.
This charges your spirit, and the One who knows God's will over your life will begin to speak.
Scripture will begin to flow and remind you of God's promises over your life.
You need a strong faith in order to stand against evil.
Reflect: How long do you pray in tongues? Learn how to overcome.
We live in a world that demands the ability to challenge certain things in order to overcome.
Some do not pray at all — making it easy to fall when challenges come.

2. Remain in the Love of God
Love knows no defeat; the love of God has never been defeated — it always conquers.
We live in a world where satan continually attempts to draw us into hatred.
Many servants of God miss the will of God because of a lack of love — many "revelations" given are actually rooted in emotion, not truth.
This happens because many choose to align with one person or group while harboring hatred for another.
You have an assignment to work against hatred. Walking in love brings forth the will of God.

3. Renew Your Mind
Scripture: Romans 12:2
Fill your mind with godly things.
Walking in hatred is easy; walking in love is hard. Hatred feeds the flesh, while love is godly.
You must continually feed your mind with the Word of God.
Hatred justifies and supports the pattern of this world.

Living It Out
Scripture: Philippians 2:12–15
Work out what you have received with fear and trembling — there are things a believer should not say.
You must "die" for the Kingdom of God: set aside your feelings and personal desires, and walk in God's will for your life.
We live in an evil world where people are not always who you think they are. Without the fear of God, you are exposed.
Build your faith in the most holy way — pray in the morning, between 3:00–4:00 AM.
Seek the direction of God every day of your life.
Live a unique life.
