Pastor Chibamba Chisongo, pastor of Shalom Baptist Church in Kasama the Northern Province of Zambia, is kindly appealing to partners to support the next phase of their church meeting hall building project. The church currently needs 3,000 blocks to proceed with construction. The members are also committed to contributing as they are able, but additional support from partners would greatly help the project move forward. Any contribution, regardless of the amount, would be greatly appreciated. Please also pray for this project and ask the Lord to provide the resources needed for its completion. The church is in great need of a suitable place to meet and worship.

Katete Reformed Baptist Church has been given an opportunity to share God’s Word at Saint Francis Hospital. During the previous meeting, Elder Mambwe shared the gospel with expectant mothers who had come to the hospital for medical attention. This is one of the ministry opportunities the church engages in from time to time to spread the gospel of the kingdom. Pray that the gospel will bear fruit in the lives of those who hear it.

The ablution block project at Chitawe Reformed Baptist Church, which was left at roof level during the previous phase, will soon be roofed following the arrival of the roofing sheets and other steel materials. The soakaway cover will also be completed during this phase. Pray that this stage of the project will be completed successfully. Continue to pray that the Lord will provide the resources needed to purchase the remaining materials and bring the project to completion.

We praise God for the six individuals who were baptised at the end of July at John Laing Reformed Baptist Church, KBC’s church plant in Lusaka, Zambia. Pray that these new believers will continue to grow in their faith and become firmly established in Christ. Pray also for Pastor Kelvin Mbewe and the entire congregation as they seek to faithfully evangelise the surrounding community. May the Lord grant them many opportunities to share the Gospel and, in His mercy, bring many more to salvation.

Pastor Amedee Bagirakandi, Kabwata Baptist Church’s missionary pastor to Redeemer Baptist Church in Bujumbura, Burundi, is currently training eight men through a one-year leadership program. He meets with them once a week for three hours, with the goal of continuing the training annually to develop future church leaders. Please pray that the Lord will grant Pastor Amedee grace and wisdom as he trains these men, and that the Lord will give the men grace to learn, grow, and develop into faithful leaders who understand that Christian leadership is a stewardship entrusted to them by God.

On 8 August, Brother Obby Lubumbe was in Garden House, Lusaka, Zambia, together with some Kabwata Baptist Church members who are helping lay the groundwork for a church plant in the area. Brother Obby conducts a Bible club every Saturday for children in the community. On this particular day, he held an outreach event attended by the children, their parents, and guardians. He shared the gospel with them, and Brother Obby and his team also shared a meal and distributed free Bibles. Pray that the Lord will provide the resources needed to support Brother Obby as he establishes this church plant.

Kabwata Baptist Church gives thanks to God for the successful weaning off of two churches in Rwanda after four years and two months of being planted and supported. On 2 August, eight men were ordained as elders—three in one church and five in the other. We thank God for all who have contributed to this work, especially HeartCry Missionary Society in the USA and Arche Church in Germany for supporting these churches. Please pray that the newly ordained elders will be firmly established and faithfully serve the Lord. Pray also that these churches will grow, become firmly established, and plant many more churches for God’s glory.

Ebenezer Reformed Baptist Church in Monze District, Southern Province of Zambia, runs a Bible club for children in the surrounding community. The club meets once a month on Saturdays, and, as the Lord provides the necessary resources, the church hopes to increase the frequency of these meetings. Please pray that the teachers will faithfully teach God's Word and that the gospel shared with the children will bear lasting fruit in their lives. Also pray that the Lord will be pleased to use this ministry to bring many children to saving faith in Jesus Christ

The African Christian University is a joint venture of Reformed Baptist churches, including Kabwata Baptist Church, committed to providing education from a Christian worldview. Students and faculty are regularly taught God’s Word through compulsory chapel services, while mentorship is a key part of student development. The university offers degree programs in Agriculture, Theology, Education, and Business Administration, as well as a Master of Theology and a Scholars Programme that prepares students for tertiary education. As the university continues to grow and expand its impact, it still needs financial support.
