KBC has two church plants in Rwanda that have been unable to meet physically for several years due to government restrictions. Although the churches have worked to meet the required standards, new requirements have continually been introduced. We thank God that, despite these challenges, both congregations have continued to strengthen their members and faithfully proclaim the gospel to unbelievers. The Lord has graciously blessed their efforts with many conversions. The churches are also training men for leadership roles. Please pray that faithful men will soon be ordained and that the brothers and sisters will remain steadfast, encouraged, and faithful to God.

Brother Lionel Rubandana is the second brother with whom the elders at KBC are partnering to plant a church in Burundi, this time in the political capital, Gitega. By the grace of God, the work began in February this year as a fellowship meeting in brother Lionel’s home. The fellowship continues to grow as many people hear sound biblical teaching and attend the gatherings. Despite difficult government requirements for legal registration, they continue to meet peacefully and carry out evangelistic outreach. Please pray for a suitable meeting place, the Lord’s favor in the registration process, the salvation of souls, and resources that will enable our brother to fully concentrate on the Lord’s work.

Brother Akilimali Danani is the man with whom the elders at KBC desire to partner in planting a church in Uganda along Entebbe Road. The group currently meets in the home of one of the brethren and has an average attendance of about 15 people. As the congregation continues to grow, Brother Akilimali and the team hope to secure a larger meeting place. The church has already been named Pilgrims Baptist Church. Please pray that God will grant Brother Akilimali wisdom and direction as this work develops, and that he will remain faithful in the preaching and teaching of God’s Word. Pray also for boldness for Brother Akilimali and the entire team as they evangelize the surrounding community, and for the resources needed to establish and sustain this church plant.

Brother Mike Musafiri has been identified by the elders of Kabwata Baptist Church (KBC) to establish a Reformed Baptist church in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. The work, known as Kinshasa Baptist Church, began with Bible studies and a preaching point. However, the ministry was interrupted when Brother Mike was falsely accused and imprisoned. Through the prayers of KBC and believers around the world, he was released. He remains committed to the work and is ready to continue once support is secured. Pray for financial provision, French Reformed Baptist materials, and the resources needed for the ministry to resume.

Brother Njekwa Sitali is the man the elders of KBC are working with to establish a church in the State Lodge area in Lusaka, Zambia. Currently, the work has begun as a preaching point, and a church service is held every Sunday. Some KBC members have partnered with him in the work of evangelism in the area. This ministry requires significant financial support because of the location in which the work is situated. It also requires earnest evangelism and great patience. Many people in the area, because of the material blessings God has given them, refuse the Word of God, Bibles, and Christian literature, believing that the gospel is only meant for those who lack material possessions. Pray that the Lord will open their spiritual eyes so that they may see their sinful state and grant them receptive hearts. Pray also for the believers involved in evangelism in the area, that they may continue faithfully despite opposition. Pray that this church may be firmly established and that Brother Njekwa Sitali may soon be ordained. We are grateful to those who are already praying for this work and are willing to financially support it.

Brother Obby Lubumbe is the man whom the elders at Kabwata Baptist Church (KBC) have identified to assist in planting a church in the Garden House area of Lusaka, Zambia. At present, he has established a Bible club in the area where he shares the Gospel with the children who attend the Bible club every Saturday, and through these children, he occasionally has opportunities to interact with their parents as well. Pray for the resources needed to support the establishment of this church plant, as the work requires funds for renting a meeting place for the church, as well as support for the pastor’s housing and general upkeep.

The elders and members of Kabwata Baptist Church have taken seriously the command to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe all that Christ has commanded. In our church-planting efforts, the elders have identified five places where new churches may be planted: two in Lusaka, Zambia; one in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo; one in Uganda; and another in Gitega, Burundi. Join us in praying for this work and that the Lord may provide the resources needed to begin these church plants.

The KBC missionary pastor to Kaoma Reformed Baptist Church is Pastor Nyambe Liywalii in Western Province, Zambia. The pastor thanks God that the church has continued to meet every Sunday for worship services, and he is grateful for the many opportunities available to share the Gospel with government workers, inmates, students at government learning institutions, and children through Sunday school and Bible Club ministries. He also thanks God for the opportunity to be involved in training pastors in the area. In addition, he thanks God that the church has already secured land for a church building, and that a borehole has been drilled, providing a reliable water supply. Please pray that the evangelism efforts will bear fruit and that God will provide the resources needed to put up permanent structures on the church plot.

Pastor Kelvin Mbewe is the KBC missionary pastor to John Laing in Lusaka, Zambia. He is currently training several men to take up leadership roles when they are ready, and he requests prayer that God will raise faithful men for this task. He thanks God for a team of dedicated members who actively engage in community evangelism, as well as for the Bible club, which serves as a means of sharing the gospel with children. He is grateful that the church has a school through which the gospel is shared with pupils and their parents during parent-teacher meetings. He further requests prayer that he may faithfully proclaim the gospel and serve as a faithful undershepherd.

Pastor Lewis Chisenga is the KBC missionary pastor serving at Sinda Reformed Baptist Church in Sinda District, Eastern Province, Zambia. He thanks God for sustaining him, his family, and the church plant, especially during times of illness. He prays that God will continue to grow the church through ongoing evangelism efforts. Please also pray that God may raise faithful men to take up leadership roles. He is grateful for the progress made on the manse and requests prayer for the resources needed to complete the remaining work.
