Topic: BEWARE OF THE MIXED MULTITUDE
"Now the mixed multitude who were among them yielded to intense craving; so thechildren of Israel also wept again and said: âWho will give us meat to eat? Weremember the fish which we ate freely in Egypt, the cucumbers, the melons, theleeks, the onions, and the garlic; but now our whole being is dried up; thereis nothing at all except this manna before our eyes!" Numbers11:4-6, NKJV
The Bible tells us that when Israel went out of Egypt, ââŠa mixed multitude went up also with themâŠâ (Exodus12:38). It was this mixed multitude that caused Godâs people to start looking back instead of looking forward. They criticized what God supplied and wished for what they had left behind.
In the house of God, the mixed multitude are those people who attend church with you but donât believe in the vision of the church. They are those who always find something to criticize about the church or the pastor, and those who speak against those who are working and doing big things for God. Beware of such people; donât find yourself among them or even listen to them. They can keep you from fulfilling your purpose in God and from walking into all that God has prepared for you. Thatâs exactly what happened to the children of Israel. When they listened to the criticism of the mixed multitude, they murmured against God and against Moses. As a result, many of them perished.
Donât listen to voices that make you despise manna (the word) and make you lust after other things.
