The DBTZ team had a wonderful community check in Batoka, Southern Province of Zambia, after attending the Farming God's Way training led by Noah and his team from the USA. They came to equip the Deaf community with practical farming skills based on biblical principles.

Following the training, the DBTZ team successfully conducted a community check on the translation of Mark chapters 1, 2, 3, and 4. The feedback received from the Deaf community was invaluable in ensuring that the translation is clear, accurate, natural, and acceptable.

Translating spoken languages is about choosing the right words.

Translating sign languages is about choosing the right words, signs, handshapes, facial expressions, body movements, and the effective use of space. Every detail matters because each movement conveys meaning. Together, these elements make sign language a rich, expressive, and beautiful visual language.

Sign language is more than communication—it is a language of meaning, culture, and life. That's the beauty of sign language! 🤟✨

Jesus Brings Hope

In Mark 1:29–34, we see the compassion and power of Jesus. He healed Peter's mother-in-law from her fever, and she immediately got up and began to serve. As evening came, people brought everyone who was sick and those suffering in different ways, and Jesus healed many.

This passage reminds us that no sickness, pain, or burden is too great for Jesus. He not only heals but also restores us so we can live with purpose and serve others.

As we continue translating God's Word into Zambian Sign Language, we are reminded that every Deaf person deserves the opportunity to experience these powerful stories in their own heart language. God's love, compassion, and salvation are for everyone. Through sign language Bible translation, we are helping ensure that no one is left behind in hearing the Good News of Jesus Christ.

May God's Word continue to transform lives—one sign, one verse, and one heart at a time.

When Jesus enters your life, hope replaces fear, healing begins, and lives are transformed. ❤️🙏

DBTZ is currently working on Mark 2. We learn that Jesus has authority to forgive sins, welcomes sinners, and values faith even when others doubt. This reminds us that God’s Word brings healing and hope to all people.
Through sign language Bible translation, we are making sure that the Deaf community can fully understand and experience God’s Word in their own language. This helps remove barriers so that everyone can clearly receive the Gospel and grow in faith. 🙏

As the DBTZ team continues working on Mark chapters 1 and 2, we are learning many important lessons from the Gospel of Mark. One thing we see clearly is that Jesus came with power, compassion, and authority. He preached the Good News, healed the sick, delivered people from evil spirits, forgave sins, and called people to follow Him.

Mark also teaches us the importance of faith, obedience, and sharing God’s message with others. Through this translation work, we want Deaf people in Zambia to understand the Word of God clearly in Zambian Sign Language and grow spiritually through it.

The Gospel of Mark is important because it helps us understand who Jesus is and what He came to do. It reminds us that the message of salvation is for everyone, including the Deaf community.

Please continue praying for the DBTZ team as we work on Mark 1 and 2.

Impact story

Thank you, Florence, for your wonderful words. At DBTZ, we will continue to work hard to make sure the Bible translation is available in Zambian Sign Language (ZSL) for the Deaf community. Sign language Bible translation is important because it gives Deaf people direct access to God’s Word in their own heart language, helping them understand, connect deeply with Scripture, and grow in faith. It promotes inclusion, equality, and the spread of the Gospel within the Deaf community.
