*Visit of the Metropolitan of Zambia to the Embassy of Palestine in Lusaka*
On the occasion of the great Islamic feast of *Eid al-Adha - The Feast of Sacrifice*, His Eminence Metropolitan Ioannis of Zambia paid a courtesy visit to the Embassy of Palestine in Lusaka.
His Eminence was accompanied by Greek Olympic champions *Ms. Athanasia Tsoumeleka* and Mr. Georgios Tzelilis.
During the meeting, Metropolitan Ioannis conveyed to His Excellency the Ambassador of Palestine the warm wishes of the Holy Metropolis of Zambia for the Feast of Sacrifice, as well as the greetings of the entire Orthodox flock to the Muslim world for this great religious celebration.
Reference was also made to the visit of His Beatitude Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa Theodore II to Zambia.
His Excellency the Ambassador hosted a festive breakfast in honour of His Eminence the Metropolitan and his entourage, in an atmosphere of mutual respect and friendship.
The meeting reaffirmed the strong bonds of mutual understanding and interfaith dialogue that the Orthodox Church fosters in Africa.
