Unleashed is a Ministry under Mount Christian Centre Church "More House". Fine Wine is part of Unleashed Ministry specifically designed and tailored to cater for the needs and expectations of mature single adults. Over the weekend of 1st to 2nd November 2025, our Fine Wine Ministry held the second edition of the Become Retreat under the theme “A Fresh Start”, as we explored what it means to embrace new beginnings. It was an unforgettable two days filled with inspiration, reflection, and renewal.

We were honoured to have anointed speakers who poured into us with depth and grace. A common which echoed through every session was that a fresh start requires us to stay the course, be consistent, and embrace the process.

Reverend Carol Kyakilika opened by helping us reflect on how we arrived where we are and how we can intentionally reset. She reminded us that boundaries are not meant to keep us out, but to keep us safe.

Pastor Tegegne Tebeje stirred our hearts with the reminder that God is magnificently obsessed with us. He emphasized that knowing who we are gives meaning and impact to a fresh start and that it calls for massive action.

On Sunday, Pastor Gladys Paswani concluded with a powerful message on why we deserve a fresh start. She reminded us that acceptance is not settling it is choosing a new direction with courage and faith.

We were also blessed to be joined by Pastor Judy and Pastor Mumbi, dear friends of Pastor Gladys. Both single women, one having gone through divorce and the other through the loss of a spouse, shared their own moving stories of renewal and hope. Pastor Judy, a high-ranking official in the defence forces, and Pastor Mumbi, a serial entrepreneur leading a global group of companies, encouraged us with their testimonies of resilience and faith.

Our Fine Wine Ministry is made up of single men and women aged 35 years and above, who are in a season of singleness, whether never married, widowed, divorced, or single parents. The Become Retreat, held annually, is designed to create a safe space for renewal, growth, and connection for both our single men and women.

We are excited about what God is doing through this event and look forward with great anticipation to next year’s retreat.

This past weekend, 19-20 October, our Fine Wine segment had a retreat called 'Become' at the Legacy Resort. We are grateful to our esteemed speakers who helped us delve deep into understanding how we can become who God has designed and destined us to be so that we can live a fulfilling life. Our inaugural session with Pastor Tegegne helped us understand the power of answering WHO AM I. That understanding who you are is essential to become. We learnt that clarity was a key component and no other, but God can give you clarity of who you are. That, understanding who we are was essential for building self-confidence, self-worth, and developing meaningful relationships. We learnt about the barriers to becoming.

The second speaker Bishop Oscar Mumba, dealt with dealing with failed expectations and bouncing back. We learnt that you will always be what you've always been unless you are intentional. That, both God and the devil use expectations. That when expectations fail something dies, and we need to deal with what has died if we are to become. We also learnt on how to bounce back from failed expectations and building resilience.

On the second day, Doctor Clinton Kadochi, a trained medical doctor specialising in mental health, took us through a session on mental wellness. We learnt about the three key elements to mental wellness, the health of thoughts, our emotions/feelings, and behaviour. We learnt about the different traumatic experiences and what trauma does and were also empowered with how to deal with such to ensure our mental wellbeing.

Our final speaker Ms Tebogo Silavwe took us through a poignant session of her own life experiences and the restorative power of God. Her book drawn from her own personal life experience is an inpirational book on bouncing back from brokenness. A single mother of two boys, who having gone through a divorce was restored by God and has found love again. We were blessed to have her fiance in our midst through the session.

We ended the retreat with an interactive session of creating our own vision board using visuals. Creativity was at its best!

What an amazing and intense time of learning and relearning, healing, restoration, and bonding. New friendships were cultivated, lots of fun and interaction. Here are a few snippets from the Become Retreat.

Last month, we held the second session of Therapy in the Overflow. This session was particularly impactful, offering numerous valuable lessons relevant to our current circumstances. We explored the concept of brokenness in-depth, discussing how God is drawn to our vulnerabilities and possesses the unique capacity to effect comprehensive and lasting healing from the inside out.

The session yielded profound transformations and inner healing. We were also blessed to experience Minister Temwani's powerful deep worship ministry once again.
