Welcome to Today's Lesson on Obedience! ❤️
• Hey everyone! 😀Today, we're going to explore one of the most important virtues in our Christian walk: obedience. Let's dive into God's Word and see what He has to say about it.
1 Samuel 15:22 - Obedience vs. Sacrifice
In 1 Samuel 15:22, Samuel says something that might surprise us. He tells us that obedience is better than sacrifice! What does that mean? Well, in those days, people would offer sacrifices to God as a way of showing their devotion. But Samuel is saying that even those sacrifices aren't as important as simply obeying God's voice.
Think about it. When we obey God, we're showing Him that we trust Him and value His will above our own. That's what pleases Him most!
Romans 8:26 - The Holy Spirit's Help
Now, let's jump to Romans 8:26. Here, Paul reminds us that we don't have to obey God in our own strength. The Holy Spirit is always there to help us!
In fact, the verse says that the Spirit "helps us in our weakness." Isn't that amazing? When we feel like we can't obey God on our own, the Spirit steps in and gives us the power to do so.
What Does Obedience Look Like in Our Lives?
So, what does obedience look like in our daily lives? It means listening to God's voice and doing what He says, even when it's hard. It means trusting Him and His plan, even when we don't understand it.
Let's make a commitment to obey God's voice today. Let's ask the Holy Spirit to help us, and let's trust that He will give us the power to do so.
Prayer Time 🙏
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for reminding us of the importance of obedience. Help us to listen to Your voice and do what You say. Give us the power of the Holy Spirit to obey You, even when it's hard.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
