In the New Apostolic Church, Thanksgiving is a special day on which believers express gratitude to God for His grace, protection, guidance, provision and the many blessings received throughout their lives.

Thanksgiving goes beyond material blessings. It is also an opportunity to acknowledge God's gift of salvation through Jesus Christ and the fellowship believers have with Him. Through prayer, praise and offerings, believers respond to God's goodness with grateful hearts.

Thanksgiving is commemorated annually on the first Sunday of October.

During Thanksgiving, fruits and other farm produce are used to decorate the altar as a symbol of gratitude to God, acknowledging Him as the giver and provider of all good things. They represent His blessings in creation and provision, as well as the fruits of a grateful and faithful life.

District Apostle Kububa Soko conducted a Divine Service this morning at Chandiza Main Congregation in Chadiza District, Eastern Province.

The Divine Service was based on Psalm 90:1, with the message: “Let us be grateful because of God's kindness.”

The District Apostle said believers have many reasons to thank God, including His creation, favour, love and provision of everything needed to sustain life. He further highlighted God's grace, keeping believers in the faith, forgiveness of sins and the offer of salvation through Jesus Christ.

During the Divine Service, the congregation joined in celebrating the birthday of a brother by singing a birthday hymn for him.

Following the Divine Service, the District Apostle and his entourage departed Chadiza for their respective destinations.

[PHOTO FOCUS] KAMALAMBA: WHERE THE NEW APOSTOLIC CHURCH BEGAN IN SOLWEZI, DEDICATED

Established in 1961, Kamalamba Congregation was the first New Apostolic Church congregation in Solwezi, beginning with Sunday Divine Services held in a member’s home.

The congregation later moved to its present location after land was made available in 1975. With membership growth, construction of the current church building commenced in 2012, supported by members and the Church administration bringing its completion and subsequent dedication this morning during a Divine Service conducted by the District Apostle Kububa Soko.

[PHOTO FOCUS] LUMWANA MINE CONGREGATION DEDICATED

Established in 2009, Lumwana Mine Congregation began with 32 members, with the first Divine Service held at Lumwana Mine School. For several years, members worshipped at the school and in a private home. In 2017, the congregation acquired land for a permanent church building, with construction commencing later that year.

Despite financial and logistical challenges, members remained committed through financial contributions, voluntary labour, prayer and fellowship. By 2021, construction had been completed, and Sunday and Wednesday services moved to the new church building.

Over the years, the congregation has grown to approximately 207 members, with the church continuing to serve as a place of worship, fellowship and spiritual growth.

District Apostle Kububa Soko this afternoon conducted a Divine Service with dedication for Lumwana Mine Congregation at 15:00hrs.

The District Apostle based sermon on 1 Corinthians 1:10 as the text word anchored on the message, "Let us Foster unity and help one another to reach the goal".

[PHOTO FOCUS] KISASA CONGREGATION DEDICATED

Kisasa Congregation was established in 1971 through the missionary work of a serving Deacon, with the first Divine Services held at a brother’s home. As membership grew, the congregation moved to different locations before settling on the current site in 1997, when a brother offered his property for the Lord’s work.

The coming of the Kalumbila Mine brought an influx of people to the area, resulting in significant membership growth. Construction of the present church building commenced in 2016, following the moulding of bricks the previous year.

Through sacrifice, commitment and unity, the congregation has completed the church building, which is now dedicated to the honour and glory of God.

For this special Divine Service, Deuteronomy 1:36 was read as the text word anchored on the message, "those who wholly follow the Lord will enter the Kingdom of God".

[PHOTO FOCUS] NYAKASEYA CONGREGATION DEDICATED

Established in 1978, Nyakaseya Congregation in Ikelenge District began as a small family gathering of 15 members. Ikelenge is located about 350km from Solwezi and is bordering Angola and Congo.

Over the years, the congregation continued to grow, and by 2010, membership had increased to more than 120. This growth created the need for a larger and more suitable place of worship.
A new plot was subsequently made available, paving the way for the construction of the current church building, which was dedicated this afternoon by District Apostle Kububa Soko during a Divine Service that commenced at 13:00 hours.

For this special Divine Service, the District Apostle used Luke 12:32 as the text word, under the message: “The flock of Christ is an image of the Church of Christ.”

The following ministers were called up to assist during the Divine Service:

• Lead Apostle Yakomba Yavwa
• Apostle James Kasongo
• Apostle Graham Mafulo

The District Apostle is accompanied by Lead Apostle Yakomba Yavwa, host Apostle Patrick Poho, Apostle James Kasongo and Apostle Graham Mafulo.

Following the Divine Service in Ikelenge, the District Apostle and his entourage departed for Kalumbila, where he is scheduled to conduct a Divine Service at 09:00 hours tomorrow morning.

The programme will continue with another Divine Service in Lumwana at 15:00 hours, before concluding with a final Divine Service in Solwezi on Sunday.

District Apostle Kububa Soko on Sunday 20th September 2026, conducted a Divine Service in Kaoma at Kaoma Town Congregation.

Bible text: Deuteronomy 28:2

[2] "And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God".

Message: God's blessings for humanity and creation can be experienced in all their fullness in Christ.

During the Divine Service, the District Apostle appointed four (4) District Rectors and assigned thirteen (13) Assistant District Rectors.

The District Apostle is accompanied by the District Apostle Helper Robert M Nsamba, Lead Apostle Elvis Liywali, the host Apostle Maliwa Lubinda Maliwa, Apostle Linyango Nawa, Apostle Sabwiza Tufule, Apostle Steven Sikobela, Apostle Martin Mutondo, Apostle Jonas Kamwengo and Apostle Imungana Malikana.

Earlier on Saturday, the District Apostle officially launched the preparations for visit of the Chief Apostle in Kaoma in June 2027.

[PHOTO FOCUS] NJOMBWA CHURCH DEDICATED

Established in 1985, Njombwa Congregation is located in Kasanengwa District, Eastern Province, approximately 100 kilometres from Chipata City. The missionary work of the New Apostolic Church in the area was introduced by faithful brothers who had relocated from a neighbouring village.

In 1987, the local Headman allocated land to the church for the construction of a church building. The congregation was later visited by District Apostle Duncan Burton Mfune (+) in 1991.

In 2026, the Church Administration commenced the construction of a modern church building at Njombwa Congregation, which was subsequently completed and dedicated this morning by the District Apostle Kububa Soko.

For the dedication Divine Service, the District Apostle read from Luke 2:52 as the text word, anchored on the message, “Growing in the Image of Jesus Christ.”

Drawing from the account of a 12-year-old Jesus in the temple, the District Apostle explained that Jesus continued to grow in wisdom and stature.

He encouraged the members to emulate Christ by growing in:

• Love
• Forgiveness
• Reconciliation
• Faith
• Freedom from superstition

The District Apostle concluded by encouraging the members to leave behind anything that separates them from God and to continually grow in the image of Jesus Christ.

The District Apostle Kububa Soko has concluded his pastoral visit to the Kasama Apostle Area with a Divine Service held this morning at 09:00hrs at Kasama Central Church.

For the Divine Service, the District Apostle used Deuteronomy 4:24 as the text word.

In his message, the District Apostle reminded the congregation that God is holy, He is love, and we must make a decision for Him.
