The history of Lumezi Central Congregation dates back to 1988, when a few members initially gathered for Divine Services in a house.

As the membership continued to grow, the congregation later began holding services in a classroom at Lumezi Primary School.

In 2011, the brethren commenced the construction of a permanent church building, which has now been dedicated today. During the early stages of construction, then Apostle Kububa Soko — now District Apostle — who at the time cared for the Chipata Apostle Area, sought assistance from the Church Administration Office and various construction materials were subsequently provided, greatly contributing to the progress of the project.

The church building was later completed under the leadership of the Apostle Collins Luhanga.

This afternoon at 14:00hrs, the District Apostle conducted a Divine Service with dedication for Lumezi Central and read from Ephesians 3:20–21 as the text word.

MESSAGE: God can do great things for us

Several Apostles were called to serve along:

1. Lead Apostle Fred Mwila
2. Apostle Nawa Linyango
3. Apostle Ringson Ndambo

The District Apostle and his entourage have since left Lumezi for their various destinations and he will tomorrow conduct a Divine Service at Petauke Central Church at 09:00hrs.

With only one day to go before the International Youth Festival, young people from across the DAA 28 are actively preparing, finalizing their travel plans, rehearsing for presentations, coordinating logistics, and, most importantly, spiritually readying themselves through prayer and reflection for a truly uplifting experience.

The church leadership is especially excited to spend this weekend with the youth, looking forward to a spiritually enriching time filled with worship, the word, and meaningful fellowship.

This year’s IYF promises to be nothing short of exceptional. Youths should come expectant—ready to receive, to connect, and to experience the very best that has been prepared.

See you there!
