Title: What a privilege of being called in ministry
Text:1 Timothy 1:12
"I thank the Messiah Jesus, our Lord, who gives me strength, that he has considered me faithful and has appointed me to his service." (ISV)
The call in ministry is the privilege that God has given to undeserving men and women. No one can claim to be qualified to be in ministry, we are all undeserving to be called in ministry. The Apostle Paul testifies of this privilege that was given to him by God. He was not qualified to be called in ministry and even to receive this salvation but it was because of God's mercy that he received it.
The call in ministry friends is an humble gesture that God has given us by his own grace and mercy. Looking at our backgrounds, all of us are not qualified to be in ministry or to minister before the Lord but God who is rich in mercy he decided to call the unqualified to be his ministers. What a privilege we have friends.
God did not just call us in ministry and left us to do it alone but he has provided us with the strength we need in ministry friends. The Apostle Paul testifies that Christ Jesus is our strength in ministry. Friends our strength in ministry does not from our qualifications or our own strength, it comes from Christ Jesus who himself is our strength. God knows that in our own strength we cannot do the work of ministry and in order for him to make us able to do his work he gave us the powerful force we need and that he Christ Jesus.
When God called us in ministry He counted us faithful to do it. What an amazing thought friends, us who were undeserving to be called in ministry could be counted faithful to do his work? The Apostle Paul testifies of that, he saw himself not to worthy to be trusted with that great responsibility because of his weakness but God saw him to be faithful. Friends God knows that you are able to carry out the responsibility he has given you as His ministers. Be encouraged that God counts on you to do it, people may not trust you to carry out the work of ministry but God trusts you.
God is the one who appointed us to be ministers. Friends the call of ministry is not something that we decided on our own to do, it was an appointment by God himself. It is important that we acknowledge that this calling did not come by our self-will or choice but it was by God's will and choice. The Apostle Paul acknowledged that God appointed him to be his minister in his service. This is encouraging to us because there will be people that will question and doubt our callings but the reality is that it's not men who called us or ourself in ministry. The call in ministry is God appointment and not man's appointment.
Conclusion
The minister of God is called by God, strengthened by God and counted faithful by God to fulfill his calling. As you do his work remember these three things.
God bless you!
