WHY IS THE KWACHA GOING SOUTH:
Let me make some suggestions to help our Kwacha gain confidence and value.

It is clear that the recent happenings in the nation have affected the atmosphere of the nation. As Zambians you are aware of what is happening in the political environment, agricultural environment and in a few other areas.

Let me highlight some of these issues:

1. The PF situation - We are aware of the turmoil situation in the PF Party which is the main opposition in the country. For the past two months there has been a lot of unrest within the PF party. The Miles Sampa acts and the consequent reaction from the other camp within the party have negatively affected the atmosphere in Zambia. The same also has dragged in the National Assembly compounding the situation further. The factions are all sending negative energies in the economic and diplomatic spheres.

2. The announcement by Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu that he is back to active politics is also another major factor affecting the atmosphere. The economic environment is very sensitive to such energies being dispensed by influential people. The analysis of that announcement and it's impact is being extended or projected into coming years. The questions being asked and simulations being made right now by potential donors and investors are far impactful than we think. Investors take into considerations any actions being done now and extrapolate them into some few years from now and as a result decisions are made based on that.

3. The good works that the current government is doing such as the debt restructuring, Vedanta coming back, Mopani news, ZNS mealie Meal, Inputs, China Visit, Minerals, favourable relations, good governance and many others have been drowned by the noise of the above events.

4. RECOMMENDATION-
1) Government to increase the volume on the talk of the good things that it's doing. There should be more talk, discussions and strong focus on government programmes.
2. Government shouldn't be talking too much about happenings in PF. The more government talks about these issues the more it gives credence to the issues. The government will become the mouth- piece of these issues.
3. The announcement by the 6th President to come back to active politics is a person issue and the govt shouldn't pay much attention to it. Mr Lungu is like any other person and there should be no particular attention that should be given to the disadvantage of the nation.
4. Government should release more of the CDF monies for 2023 and increase spending at local level and people will have more money during the end of the year.
5. It is always known that the last quarter has increased demand for dollars because of holidays, bulk purchasing for the festive season, budget alignment and planning for next year. Many companies go into slow implementation and clearance. There is always very little excitement in the economic investment during this quarter. The current depreciation of the kwacha is not strange but something expected at all times during this quarter.
6. I believe also that the purchase of agricultural inputs also affected the demand for hard currency. But this is only a temporary situation.

We see here that Jesus gave specific instructions to his successors to start methodically and systematically their spiritual work. He prophesied that they will receive power when the Holy Spirit would come upon them; and they would be witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth. Have you ever wondered why he emphasized Jerusalem and not any other city? I believe if one can make it in the capital then you can make it anywhere else. If you start with the centre then the rest is possible. Power is concentrated at the centre and if you can conquer the centre then you have won it all.

Cities are important to target in our soul winning strategies. Lusaka is a key city in Zambia and your own capital or place where you are is key. Your local church may be located in one part of the city but your target is to impact the city and the nation at large. Your influence should be across the city and not only in one small part of a compound or suburb. Jesus gave us an example to target the entire city and thereafter move to another city.

Our prayers for evangelism should not be limited to the particular location where your local church is but should target the ward, constituency, district, town, city, province, chiefdom and nation. These demarcations were there for a purpose. Territorial powers identify themselves with these geographical locations. We also need to do the same for our work to be impactful.

I find this very interesting; Do you wonder why Jonah was sent to Nineveh, Jesus wept over Jerusalem, Jesus wrote letters to seven cities in Rev 2 and 3, remember the struggle between God and the devil in Revelation is centred around two great cities: Jerusalem and Babylon. Cities are very important let us focus on these cities for successful takeover.

*PRAYER* :
- I pray for Lusaka today for total take over in Jesus' name
- I bind the strongman of the city today in Jesus name
- I set the people free from the rule of satan in my city
- I pray that the gospel will have a free flow in the hearts of the people in my city.
- I pray for all cities in my country today.

Brethren, God has assured us that all is well with us. The Lord knows the end from the beginning. He knows our future and he has a good plan for us. There is no need to worry about our future. Our God is good, he has wonderful things in store for us.

Take courage and be of good cheer. Even when things look like they are not working out. The Lord knows that all shall be well its only a matter of time.

What is the challenge is that we have little patience and anxiety takes over us. Panic and fear grips us and we begin to sink in the challenge that is presented before us. We begin to try and find our own solution which often land us in deeper problems.

We can avoid all this if we can trust the Lord and focus on his promises that all shall be well with us. I like the Shunammite woman despite that the son was dead, she kept on confessing that all was well. We need to emulate this faith-filled woman in our circumstances. We need to confess what is positive and not the prevailing situation. It may not be easy but we have to practice that and it will be well with us. We are passing through difficult challenges every day but these challenges can't be more than the word of God or the nature of God. We have to remember always that our God is good and he is ready to do good to us.

I like also the statement that Job made that I know my redeemer lives and I will see him again with my own eyes. He never forgot God's goodness despite the sufferings he went through. Child of God don't forget the goodness of the Lord in your life. He will surely come through for you. He has promised never to leave us nor forsake us. You are safe in Him and it is well with you.

*PRAYER* :
1. Lord teach me today to believe that all is well with me, my family and my church
2. I declare in my life that all is well in Jesus' name.
3. I pray for the church and world that all is well in Jesus' name

Text: 2 Cor 9:8/Eph 2:8-10

*Unmerited favour,* this is the meaning of grace. Grace came by Jesus Christ. The new covenant brought grace into being. Before, there was the Law which came through Moses. The contrast is very clear. With the Law you needed to work out with your ability, strength and you needed to deserve it. However with grace, it was done for us even when we didn't deserve it. Grace is good children of God. We are now children of God despite that we were not the chosen ones according to election. Through Jesus Christ we are now part of the commonwealth. This is in line with Salvation.

I would like to bring another perspective concerning grace. I have come to understand that grace is the ability of God that enables us to achieve things that we cannot ordinarily manage with our ability, strength and experience. Grace makes you perform certain tasks with easy and excellency. Grace can enable you to become exceptional. Grace is the evidence of God's presence in the affairs man. Grace gives you ability to do what you can't do on your own. Where man ends, God comes through - that's grace . Grace is God himself in action.

Theme: 'weep with those who are weeping'
Text: Romans 12:15

As a country we are mourning our fourth Republican President Mr Rupia Bwezani Banda. A lot has been said about him in terms of the good that he did whilst in service. He has left an impeccable record of good deeds. He was really a great man. Some of the things that I never knew about him have been unearthed and are now in public domain. When I look back I agree that he was a great man.

The only thing I am sad about is that there was very little mentioned about serving God and his stand as a Child of God. At some stage I heard some leaders saying they were not sure of his stand on Christianity. Some mentioned that he used to attend church at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross but not clearly stated. He did good for the country and humanity and he was a wonderful personality however there was no strong link to God.

As we mourn our dear departed, this is a lesson to us who are living today. Are we going to leave behind a great legacy of what we did for the nation, family, and humanity only? How will be our track record with regard to serving the Lord Jesus Christ. Let us be ware how we are doing our acts here on earth. Paul says I have ran the race and have finished the course. What did Paul spend his time on - serving the Lord. We need to serve the Lord with diligence. The Lord will ask us on that day as we stand before him, what did you do for me?

Prayer

- Lord help me to understand my assignment here on earth.
- Lord I pray for the nation of Zambia for comfort and strength during this period of mourning
- I pray against premature death over our leaders in the name of Jesus.

Crossway Destiny International wishes to send a message of condolences to the late former President's family and the President of the Republic of Zambia Mr Hakainde Hichilema on the passing of Mr Rupia Banda, the fourth Republican President. Its indeed a great loss to the nation. The nation has lost its elder and states man as he was referred to as President of All Zambians. Indeed its a sad moment for Zambia and Africa at large. We pray for the families and the nation to have strength and fortitude to bear during this period of mourning. May God bless and keep Zambia.
