What seeds are you sowing?

Galatians 6:7
"Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap."

Wickedness is a seed; kindness is a seed; diligence is a seed; a rich prayer life is a seed; fasting is a seed; bible study is a seed; laziness is a seed; anger is a seed; hatred is a seed; jealousy is a seed.

When you find a farm full of a harvest of the effects of jealousy, do not ask where it came from. You sowed it every day; in your sleep, in your imaginations, in your discussions. That was the seed you planted, and the realm of the spirit responded accordingly- it respected the seed you planted, and insisted that it germinates and grows.

There are people who sit quietly everyday praying, fasting, studying the word. These are positive seeds. These people are designing a tomorrow that will carry the glory of God. Our scripture above says: do not be deceived- God cannot be mocked. Simply put, you reap what you sow.

One thing about seed is that even generations to come; your children and grandchildren can join in the harvest of your seeds, whether good or bad. Life is spiritual- be careful what you are planting. Do not create unnecessary future battles for your children and future generations.

Plant the right seeds so that so your seeds are a blessing to this generation as well as generations to come.

God bless you.

Jesus Has Given us Authority Over The Devil

Luke 10:19
"Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Jesus defeated the devil for you. According to Matthew 28:18, all authority on Earth now belongs to Jesus. As His earthly representatives, Jesus has delegated His authority to us in certain ways.

Mark 16:17 "And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;

All believers have authority to use the Name of Jesus Christ. In Jesus' Name, or authority, we can cast out the devil and all his forces.

Philippians 2:10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,

After Jesus' resurrection, Scripture clearly puts responsibility on the believer to exercise the delegated authority of Jesus to resist the devil, and all his works.

1 Peter 5:8-9 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith,....

You can resist the devil and not allow him any place in your life, because you have authority over the devil.

Have a blessed day

God's Covenant of Words

Isaiah 59:21
"As for Me," says the Lord, "this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants' descendants," says the Lord, "from this time and forevermore."

According to Isaiah 59:21, part of our covenant with God includes continually having His words in our mouth and in the mouth of our descendants. Not only are we to speak God's Word, but we are to train our descendants to do the same.

God must know something about the importance of the words we speak, that we have not yet understood.

Although a growing number of believers are beginning to realize the importance of the words we speak, the vast majority of Christians have never heard any teaching on this subject. Yet, if you search the Bible, you will see that God puts a major emphasis on what we say.

1 Peter 4:11 says If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God....

Look at the Bible for yourself. Decide for yourself. You will surely decide that the Bible teaches that believers should speak words in agreement with what God says.

What you say is important.

Have a blessed day

Pride Destroys Believers

Proverbs 16:18
Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.

Pride is deadly. But instead of warning us the world encourages pride in every way. Pride is faith in yourself, instead of faith in God.

The root of pride is selfishness: putting yourself first. Thinking you are the most important. Thinking you know the most. Thinking you deserve better than someone else.

Pride will cause you to go your own way instead of God's way. Pride makes you think you do not need God's advice or help.

Pride is the root of all sin. It causes you to turn away from God instead of turning to Him. All disobedience has pride as its root. All rebellion has pride behind it. All mistreatment of other people is caused by pride: putting yourself and your feelings above the other person and their feelings.

The world system promotes people who are proud, and often gives them great riches. Jesus said pride is evil and defiles a person. (Mark 7:21-23)

While the world may promote the proud for a short time, their fame and success will not last.

James 4:6. . . "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble." Pride is the most serious, and the most subtle, sin. It often goes unrecognized.

God bless you

Unpacking Wisdom: Words and Attention

Proverbs 4:7

Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom.

In today's devotion, we try to understand wisdom through two key commodities: words and attention. Understanding the application of wisdom through these two commodities will help you to reach higher heights in ministry and to be effective in your tour of duty. Let us begin with words.

Getting wisdom as our scripture says begins with being careful with the words that come out of your mouth. If you are a believer and you talk too much, you will lose your honor factor. As a believer, your words should be mighty. The more scarce your words are, the more people will listen when you speak. When you run your mouth anyhow, you also run your honour out with it. A time will come when your words will be so cheap- there will be nobody around to hear it. Words are expensive, do not waste them. I implore leaders especially to pay attention to this aspect of wisdom.

The other thing is attention. Attention is an expensive commodity and only give it when it's worthy it. Your attention is where the direction of your destiny goes to. Respect your destiny enough by ensuring you channel your attention at things that add value to your destiny.

As believers, I advise us to be careful with these two commodities as we journey in our faith. Indeed God has given us a free will to decide but remember- every decision has consequences, either positive or negative. I say again, wisdom is supreme, therefore get wisdom.

God bless you

The Rich Young Ruler

Jesus looked at him and loved him. ‘One thing you lack,’ he said. ‘Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me. Mark 10:21, NIV

Let us explore the question, “Did the Rich Young Ruler Lack the Fear of God?” We observed the following:

1. He was morally upright — but incomplete.
The rich young ruler claimed he had kept the commandments since youth (v.20), showing reverence for God’s law. That reflects a level of moral seriousness — a form of outward religious fear (respect for God's commands). However, the fear of God is more than rule-keeping. It involves complete surrender, reverence, and trust in God's authority — even over our security, identity, and possessions.

2. His unwillingness to obey fully revealed a deeper issue.
Jesus lovingly exposed the man’s heart: his wealth had become his idol. The fear of God calls us to place God above all else, and that’s where the young ruler fell short. He feared losing wealth more than he feared disobeying God's call. That hesitation shows that he lacked a deep, awe-filled fear of God that would compel radical obedience.

3. He missed the "treasure in heaven" due to misplaced priorities.
The fear of God involves recognizing God’s eternal value over temporary things. If the young ruler truly feared the Lord in the biblical sense — with reverent awe and wholehearted trust — he would have gladly exchanged his earthly wealth for eternal reward.
The conclusion is that the rich young ruler lacked the full, transformative fear of God. He respected God's laws, but he didn’t revere God enough to let go of what he treasured most. Biblical fear of God leads to complete trust, obedience, and surrender — even when it costs us.
What are you holding on to that you would struggle to give up if Jesus asked you to?” And what does that reveal about who or what you truly fear and trust?

Prayer
Lord, Help me to love You more than anything I possess. Teach me to walk in true fear of You —with reverence, trust, and full surrender. Remove anything in my heart that rivals Your place. Give me the courage to follow You, no matter the cost, knowing that You are my greatest treasure. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Have a blessed day

Trusting in the Lord’s care

“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.” (Psalm 23:1, NIV)

Christians should live in God’s presence or under the shelter of His wings. Living in God’s presence implies trusting in His fatherly care. The Lord knows what is best for us, and He wants to give us exactly that. David compares Him to a shepherd who provides for his sheep. Jesus also uses this example and explains how far He is willing to go for the well-being of His followers: “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep” (John 10:11). Jesus literally did that when He died on the cross. He provided for our spiritual well-being and showers us with spiritual blessings.

But God also cares for our earthly needs. He knows that we need things like food, and clothing, Jesus assures us in Matthew 6:32. Therefore, we should trust Him for daily substance and care. If we focus on God’s Kingdom, on a life that honours God, He will take care of our needs just as He takes care of the needs of birds and flowers. Jesus does not promise us material abundance, but promises us life in abundance (John 10:10). He promises us everything we need for godly living and encourages us not to worry about these things.

Do you trust in God’s care?

Prayer

Lord, I thank you for who you are as my Father, Lord, and Provider. You are faithful to who you are and to all you say. I gratefully acknowledge your faithful provision in my life. I remember how you've provided for me in times past. Therefore, even this year, I will put my trust in your loving hands. In Jesus’ Name. Amen

Have a blessed day.

The Eternal Perspective

Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. Ecclesiastes 12:13 (NIV)

Fearing God and obeying Him prepare us for eternity and define the true purpose of life. Life is full of pursuits—career, relationships, pleasure, success—but in the end, all these are fleeting. Solomon, the wisest man to walk the earth apart from Christ, explored every avenue life had to offer. After experiencing both wisdom and folly, riches and lack, joy and sorrow, he reached a profound conclusion: "Fear God and keep His commandments."
This is not just a moral suggestion—it's the whole duty of humanity. Living with an eternal perspective means we don't measure success by earthly standards but by heavenly ones. We recognise that our days are numbered (Psalm 90:12), and eternity is long. What we do now echoes forever.
To fear God is to stand in awe of Him, revere His holiness, and surrender to His authority. When we live this way, we are investing in what truly matters: a relationship with God, Christlike character, and the fulfilment of our Kingdom purpose.
An eternal mindset shapes how we spend our time, relate to others, handle money, respond to suffering, and prioritise spiritual growth. It reminds us that we are pilgrims passing through, not citizens of this world, but of the Kingdom to come.

In what areas of your life are you most tempted to focus only on the temporary? How would your decisions today change if you truly lived with heaven in view?

Prayer
Our Heavenly Father,
Eternal God, help me fix my eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. Teach me to walk each day with heaven in mind. May my choices reflect a heart that fears You and longs to honour You. Align my will with Your eternal purposes, and help me not to waste my days on what does not last. In Jesus' name, Amen.

A Holy God Deserves Holy Reverence

In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. 2Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: …3And they were calling to one another: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory." 4At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke. 5 "Woe to me!" I cried. "I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty. Isaiah 6:1–5

Isaiah's vision of God shook him to the core. Surrounded by angels crying "Holy, holy, holy," Isaiah became immediately aware of his own sinfulness. True fear of God begins when we see Him as He is: high, lifted up, and pure beyond description.
Many people today have lost the sense of God's holiness. We have become too casual, too familiar, forgetting that the God we call Father is also the consuming fire (Hebrews 12:29). Isaiah's response to this vision reveals his awareness of his own sinfulness and the sinfulness of his people, demonstrating the profound impact of encountering God's holiness. When we recover the majesty of His holiness, we will respond with awe, humility, and repentance.
When was the last time you felt overwhelmed by God's holiness? How can you cultivate more reverence in your relationship with God?

Prayer
Holy God, open my eyes to see You as You are. May I never take Your presence lightly. Teach me to revere You with a heart that honours Your name.

Walking in Awe of God

And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good? Deuteronomy 10:12-13

What does “walk in awe of God” mean? The phase means living your life mindful of who God is—His majesty, justice, mercy, and holiness—and letting that awareness guide your actions, decisions, words, and relationships.
Fearing God leads to obedient, joyful living. When Moses spoke to Israel in Deuteronomy 10, he reminded them of the core of their covenant with God: to fear Him, walk in His ways, love and serve Him wholeheartedly, and keep His commands. As we have been emphasising, this fear isn’t terror, but reverent awe—a deep recognition of God’s majesty, holiness, and love that stirs our hearts to respond with worship and submission.
Walking in awe means recognising that every moment of our lives matters to God. It means acknowledging His presence in our choices, our words, and our attitudes.
Obedience becomes a joy, not a burden, when it’s rooted in awe and love. This walk of awe is daily, practical, and transformational. God’s commands are not meant to restrict us and take away our freedom, but to bless us. The fear of the Lord is about freedom—freedom to live life the way He designed it, filled with purpose and peace.
Are there areas in your life where you are resisting God’s prompting or leadership? How do you personally cultivate a sense of awe toward God in your daily routine?

Prayer
Our Heavenly Father! Teach me to walk in awe of You, not with fear that runs away, but with fear that draws close. Help me to obey with joy, trust with confidence, and love with my whole heart. Let my life reflect Your beauty and truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Fearing the LORD and Trusting Him

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Fear the Lord, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing. The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. Psalm 34:8-10

Fearing God leads to trusting Him. Those who fear the Lord can trust Him for provision and care. Like children who rest securely under a parent's protection, we lack nothing when we live in awe of God. He sees our needs and meets them. This kind of fear brings peace and confidence, not anxiety.
Psalm 34:8-10 promises provision and sufficiency for those who fear the LORD. Those who show reverence, awe, and respect for God's holiness and authority. Those who recognise God's power and majesty. It echoes other scriptures, such as Psalm 23:1, "The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want," and Matthew 6:33, where Jesus teaches that seeking God's kingdom first ensures that all necessary things will be provided. This assurance is rooted in God's faithfulness and His covenant relationship with His people, demonstrating that He cares for and sustains those who honour Him.
What burdens do you need to surrender to God? How has God shown Himself trustworthy in the past?

Prayer
Our Heavenly Father! I surrender my worries and burdens to You. Help me to trust in Your provision and care. Remind me of Your faithfulness. Amen.
Have a blessed day

The Blessings of Fearing God

Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in obedience to him. You will eat the fruit of your labour; blessings and prosperity will be yours.— Psalm 128:1-2 (NIV)

Fearing the LORD positions us to receive His blessings. Psalm 128 gives us a beautiful picture of how those who fear the Lord and walk in His ways are blessed. This blessing is not merely material or external, but deep and holistic — affecting your family, work, peace of mind, and eternal hope.
When we live with reverence for God and align with His will, our lives begin to bear fruit—peace, provision, favour. His commands become a delight, not a burden, because we trust His heart. Fearing God aligns us with His purposes and leads us into a place where His goodness can rest upon us.
Reflection questions: In what ways have you experienced blessings when you chose to walk in reverence before God? How can you increase your delight in His Word?

Prayer:
Gracious Father, thank you for the blessings that come from fearing You. Help me to walk in reverent awe of who You are. Teach me to honour You with my thoughts, choices, and actions. May Your favour and blessing rest upon me as I choose to walk in Your ways. Let my life reflect the joy and peace that comes from fearing You rightly. Help me to delight in Your commands and nurture my relationship with You. Open my eyes to the blessings around me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
