Genesis 15:12-15 says;

As the sun was setting, Abram fell into a deep sleep, and a thick and dreadful darkness came over him.
13 Then the LORD said to him, "Know for certain that for four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own and that they will be enslaved and mistreated there.
14 But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out with great possessions.
15 You, however, will go to your ancestors in peace and be buried at a good old age.
Beloved, I am sure any normal human being would love to have a guided life like the one the father of faith Abraham had.
Even the struggles his descendants were to have, four hundred years in slavery, were already outlined and the way out given.
It was told to Abraham though I don't think any of the Israelites, his descendants, knew about the plan to rescue them. What does this tell us? The struggles we maybe facing today, our God Has already made an escape route for them too.
That we don't know, does not necessarily mean it's not there. I am sure no wonder He says what He says to us in
Jeremiah 29:11.
