Unity is a prerequisite for development and progress on both the national and family level. The bible declares that; when a people speak the same language nothing is impossible for them (Gen 11:6).

John 1:5 (KJV); And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

THE POWER OF LIGHT

The Greek word for 'comprehended' in our theme scripture is 'katalambano' which is translated to mean, ‘to lay hold of’.

In any single fight between light and darkness, darkness can never stand a chance because it cannot hold, seize or stop light.

Take this simple example. When you walk into a dark room and switch on the light, darkness does not struggle against light, fighting to extinguish it so that it can rule, it simply ceases to be.

This means that darkness has no power. It simply is the absence of light. The moment light gets into a place, darkness flees.

St. Francis of Assisi said, "All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle".

In Psalm 119:130, the Bible says, “The entrance of thy words giveth light.”

If you are struggling with any form of darkness, for example, the darkness of disease, poverty or addiction, all you need is light; the Word.

Darkness is defenceless against the Word.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You because I am a child of light. Your Word floods my soul and changes the circumstances of my life. At Your Word, disease flees, death is vanquished and poverty is defeated. I turn on the light of Your Word in my life and watch with awe as any darkness vanishes, in Jesus' name, Amen.

Matthew 13:52 (KJV); Then said He unto them, “Therefore every scribe who is instructed unto the Kingdom of Heaven is like unto a man that is a householder, who bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.”

SOMETHING NEW

Everything new has glory to it. This is why innovation in the world is often rewarded.

Technology companies by practice always phase out old products or upgrade them with new and better features. The market responds to newness because novelty will always be attractive to the human soul.

While the men of this world live by newness as a principle, you need to understand that for the child of God, it is not merely a principle but an entitlement.

In defining this reality, Jesus says that out of your treasure, you bring forth both old and NEW things.

When He speaks of the new, it means that out of you comes what no eye has seen, what no ear has heard and what has not entered into the hearts of men (1 Corinthians 2:9).

Everything about you, be it your dreams, ideas and achievements must be a novelty. The world should look at your ministry and say, "we have never seen such a thing before." Your business must be original. The markets and economies of this world must observe it and exclaim, "this is new!" Your teachings and sermons must be new!

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this truth. Thank You for the greatness that You have placed in me. Because my greatness has its roots in You, it is endless. You use me in ways that the world never thought possible because I am a scribe instructed in the ways of the Kingdom of Heaven, in Jesus' name, Amen.
