Scripture to meditate on this week with Reverend Golden M. Banda:
"A wicked messenger falls into trouble, but a trustworthy envoy brings healing" (Proverbs 13:17).
See, messengers: Represent the sender. have potential either to destroy or build.
Their character matters just as the message.
Two types of messengers:
1. A wicked (unfaithful or dishonest) messenger who;
- distorts or twists the message
- delivers the message carelessly
- acts irresponsibly
Because of this, they bring harm to, themselves and others They create conflict, misunderstanding and broken relationships
2. A trustworthy (faithful or honest) envoy or messenger who;
- brings healing.
- Delivers the message accurately.
- Speaks truthfully
- Acts with integrity
Such honesty messenger brings, Peace Reconciliation Restoration
Prevents unnecessary conflict and promotes harmony.
In other words, integrity in communication leads to peace, while dishonesty leads to trouble.
I pray that this week you will:
- recognise that you matter most and that your words have potential to either destroy or hear
- be careful on how you pass information
- avoid gossip and exaggerations
- speak truth with wisdom and love.
