RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Sunday, August 30th

CHEER UPβ€”VICTORY IS CERTAIN

πŸ“– Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be (Romans 4:18).

πŸ‘€ PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME DSc. DSc. DD.

There are times when you’ve done everything you know to do and the situation still seems unchanged. You’ve prayed, stood on the Word and applied the counsel given, yet nothing appears different. That’s the moment many are tempted to yield to discouragement. But that should never be your response; faith never gives up.

The Bible tells us that Abraham, against hope, believed in hope. When there was no natural reason to expect a change, he held on to what God had said. That’s the life of faith. You don’t allow circumstances to sway you or cause you to vacillate; you anchor your confidence in the Word.

Never stagger at the Word of God through unbelief just because the change you seek didn’t seem to happen overnight. Rather, be strong in faith giving glory to God, knowing His Word never fails. Stand your ground and win. The Bible says we’re not of them that draw back; we believe till the end: β€œNow the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul” (Hebrews 10:38-39).

We don’t give up, and we don’t give in. You may find yourself in circumstances that seem resistant or appear unyielding or pressures that suggest you’re at a disadvantage; don’t cower. Hold your ground with the Word. You’re not at the mercy of the conditions or elements of this world; you’re a victor in Christ Jesus.

He already said β€œβ€¦in all these things we are more than conquerors…” (Romans 8:37). That’s His Word, and His Word is dependable. It works. But it requires your steadfastness. So lift your head and square your shoulders; refuse to give in to despair. Cheer up; victory is certain: β€œ...In the Messiah, in Christ, God leads us from place to place in one perpetual victory parade…” (2 Corinthians 2:14 MSG).

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for the power and immutability of your Word in my life. I stand firm in faith, unshaken by circumstances, holding fast to your Word, knowing that I’m always in victory. Your Word prevails in and through me today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY
Hebrews 10:23 KJV; Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

James 1:12 KJV; Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

Romans 4:18-22 KJV; Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. [19] And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb: [20] He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; [21] And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. [22] And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.

THE PURSUIT OF DIVINE KNOWLEDGE

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15).

When you come into Christ, you’re introduced to such divine realities as eternal life, righteousness, your identity in Him, etc. But these realities must be studied, understood and consciously lived. They don’t automatically become your experience simply because you’ve heard or read about them. You have to study the Scriptures to know more.

There’s a responsibility placed on you to search, to understand, and to live the truth, and the Word of God is truth (John 17:17). The Bible says, β€œThen shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD...” (Hosea 6:3). No wonder the Apostle Paul prayed, β€œThat the God of our Lord Jesus Christ…may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him” (Ephesians 1:17).

This shows that knowing God and His truths is progressive. There’s depth, and you have to constantly search the Scriptures as the Lord said, β€œSearch the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life…” (John 5:39). Consider the importance of eternal life: the Bible says, β€œβ€¦.God hath given to us eternal life…” (1 John 5:11).

If this is the life you’ve received, then it’s vital to understand it, how it functions, and how to live it. The same applies to righteousness. The Word declares, β€œFor he hath made him to be sin for us…that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” (2 Corinthians 5:21). These are profound realities that must be studied, understood, and lived from God’s perspective.

Christianity calls you into depth, knowledge, understanding, and application. You don’t follow assumptions; you grow and live consciously by the Word of God. When you study the Word, you’re not merely gathering information but discovering who you are. You’re building your spirit. You’re discovering the life in you and learning how to function in the realities of the Kingdom.

This removes uncertainty, eliminates confusion, and establishes you in God’s truths. You become confident, effective and productive in your walk with Him. Therefore, go beyond sense-knowledge and surface-level understanding of the Word of God. Do a deep study. Make full proof of the life God has given you by knowing more about it, understanding it, and living it every day.

PRAYER / CONFESSION

Dear Father, I thank you for the privilege of knowing you through your Word. As I study, you grant me insight, understanding, and revelation. I grow in the knowledge of eternal life, righteousness, and my identity in Christ, and I walk in the fullness of the blessings of the Gospel, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

GLOBAL DAY OF PRAYER SUNDAY SERVICE WITH OUR MAN OF GOD

James 3:1–6 (MSG)
12 Truths of God’s Final Words for Nations

1. God owns the nations

* Psalm 24:1 (TLB) β€” The earth and everything in it belong to the Lord.
* Acts 17:26 (NLT/TLB) β€” God determines the times and boundaries of nations.

Lesson: Nations ultimately belong to God. He is the owner and has authority over them.

2. God rules over the nations

* Daniel 4:24–26 (NIV)
* Psalm 22:28
* Psalm 47:8
* Psalm 103:19
* Revelation 1:5; 19:6

Lesson: God is sovereign over kings, governments and nations.

3. God appoints leaders

* Daniel 2:21 (TLB)
* Daniel 4:17 (TLB)

Lesson: Leadership is ultimately under God’s authority. He can raise leaders up and remove them.

4. He can control the hearts of leaders

* Proverbs 21:1 (TLB/NIV)

Lesson: Just as a stream can be directed, God can direct the heart of a king or ruler according to His purpose.

5. A nation that acknowledges God is blessed

* Psalm 33:12 (AMPC)

Lesson: A nation that recognizes God and makes Him its Lord places itself under His blessing.

6. His choice is not always obvious, but He can guide

* 1 Samuel 1:1–12
* 1 Kings 19:11–13 (NIV)
* Proverbs 3:5–6 (KJV)

Lesson: God’s direction may not always come in the way we expect. We must trust Him and allow Him to direct our paths.

7. He answers when nations pray

* 2 Chronicles 20:3–20
* Jonah 3:5–10

Lesson: When people humble themselves and seek God, He hears and responds. Prayer can bring change to a nation.

8. An entire nation can be deceived

* Acts 8:9–11
* Revelation 18:23

Lesson: Deception can affect entire communities and nations. God’s people must remain discerning and grounded in His truth.

9. You are not safe in a country simply because you belong to a particular group

* Esther 1:1–13
* Amos 6:1

Lesson: National circumstances can affect everyone. We should not put our ultimate confidence in our position, group or nation, but in God.

10. The final state of a nation is not up to God alone, but also to the people

* 1 Timothy 2:1–2

Lesson: God’s people have a responsibility to pray for kings, leaders and those in authority. We should actively seek God’s will for our nation.

11. Whenever God wants to preserve a nation, He raises a person to pray

* Ezekiel 22:30

God looks for someone who will stand in the gap.

Lesson: God can use one person who is willing to stand before Him in prayer on behalf of a nation.

12. God says we must not give Him rest until He establishes His purpose for the nation

* Isaiah 62:6–7

Lesson: We are called to persistent prayer. We should continue praying and reminding God of His promises until His purposes are established.

Main Message

God owns the nations, rules over them, appoints leaders, and can direct their affairs. But He also calls His people to pray.

The condition and future of a nation should therefore move the Church to intercession rather than fear.

Our assignment is not to predict the future of Zambia πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡² our assignment is to pray Gods will into the nation πŸ™ŒπŸΌ
