Growing up in a Christian family is one of the fascinating things one can ever experience. Every Saturday/Sunday you woke up early, prepare yourself and off you go gather with the saints, right ?. โ€ฆ

HERE I STAND
By Gracia

Here I stand, lovely I look.
Praising and throwing admiration on thee
Not knowing how, and that slowly
The lioness heart is melting within.
โ€œShe glows...she slays....โ€ are words
From the nice neighbours and friends
Yet little do they know: it is just the spirit
Of the lioness โ€“not to be easily defeated
By the strong and sharp spear of life!

Here I stand, lovely I look.
โ€˜Love is a deadly poison that kills peopleโ€™
Her poet pal once propounded.
She laughs and tells him that she can survive
And defeat it.
Now, hell, she agrees even more โ€“
Love is more deadly than poison.
Itโ€™s another form of crashing chemotherapy.

Oh! Here I stand, lovely I look.
Remembering the words of her pal
She weeps, and badly breaks down now.
Rest the seemingly restless mind!
