SUNDAY 16th August, 2026
Message title: BEING GRATEFUL
By: Pastor Rachel
Reference Scripture: Luke 17:11–19
Sunday’s message was a reminder that we should be grateful everything.
In Luke 17:11–19, we see ten people with leprosy who were healed, yet only one went back to Jesus to give thanks. Leprosy was a barrier that kept people from being part of society, but when the one who was healed returned and fell at the feet of Jesus, there was no longer a barrier. He received his total healing and was able to come back into the presence of God and commune with Him.
This reminds us of the importance of having a heart of gratitude. God takes joy in us going back to say thank You, even for the small things. Gratitude should be a daily practice because it is often in the small things that we learn to recognise God's power, preparing us to appreciate Him when the bigger things happen. Whatever comes into our hands, we should remain grateful.
When we come back to God and say thank You, we should wait for the Lord to say something over our lives, Just like the one l***r who returned to Jesus, he was told that his faith made him whole. This means that whatever benefits we acquire from God will not only be physical but will also make us complete in our spirit.
In this season of waiting upon The Lord, we are reminded that waiting can come with hurt, but the Lord makes a way where there seems to be no way. When we are at the feet of Jesus, God gives us comfort. Therefore, let us continue to return to His presence with grateful hearts, recognising and thanking Him for both the small things and everything He places in our hands.
The Lord bless us all
