🎯 THEME: THREATS OF HARVEST – WRONG FOCUS
WRONG FOCUS 👀 can make our problems look bigger than our God. Through the message, "Threats of Harvest – Wrong Focus," Pastor Kulu Sikazwe challenges us to shift our focus from our circumstances to the possibilities found in God.
📖 Main Text: John 5:1–9 (NKJV)
Jesus healed a man who had been unable to walk for 38 years. At His command, the man got up, took his mat, and walked, showing that Jesus has power to transform every situation.
🟣 Key Points to Consider
🔹 The man had been sick for 38 years. Some challenges in our lives, whether financial, family-related, health, or personal limitations, can also seem permanent.
🔹 The angel stirred the water, and only the first person to step in was healed. Some situations make us believe breakthroughs are only for the "lucky few."
🔹 The man was surrounded by the sick, blind, lame, and paralysed. Being in a discouraging environment can make us accept our current condition as normal.
🟢 1. THE QUESTION
Jesus asked the sick man in John 5:6, "Do you want to be made well?"
His response was: "Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me."
🔹The man gave a reason why he could not receive his healing. Instead of focusing on Jesus, he focused on his limitations and the obstacles standing in his way.
🔹Jesus already knew he had been in that condition for a long time, yet He presented him with an opportunity for change.
🔹We must be careful not to focus on why we cannot receive our answer. Instead, we should learn to recognise the opportunities God places before us. Jesus was the opportunity.
🔹Do not focus on excuses such as the economy, past failures, or your family background. Focus on the fact that God is able.
🔹He gave the reason that someone else would always get their healing before him thus he could not get his healing.
🟡 2. THE DURATION – 38 YEARS
🔹Challenges have a way of making us accept defeat or current state we are in.
🔹Do not believe that just because no one in your family has ever succeeded, it cannot happen. Dare to believe that through Jesus Christ, you can be the first.
🔹Being surrounded by people with similar challenges could have negatively impacted his faith.
🔹The duration of his condition limited his thinking to only one way of receiving an answer—the stirring of the water. Yet God had introduced a new way through Jesus.
🔹Be willing to do things differently. When something is not working, adjust. Do not be afraid to change your approach.Learn new skills, embrace new trends, use technology and AI, improve the way you work, invest, and do business. Believe God for greater things.
📖 Psalm 34:17
"The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles."
🔴 3. THE ANSWER – JESUS
🔹Jesus desires good things for His children.
Do not accept a situation that brings pain, lack, sickness, or limitation as your final destination.
🔹Although the man waited 38 years, he never stopped seeking an answer. Likewise, never give up. When life knocks you down, get back up and keep fighting.
📖 Isaiah 40:31
"Those who trust in the Lord shall renew their strength... They shall run and not be weary."
📖 Joshua 1:9
"Be strong and courageous... for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."
Be courageous. Step out and challenge the world.
📖 1 Corinthians 9:24 (ESV)
"Run that you may obtain the prize."
🔹 We are all running a race. There will be competition, challenges, and even jealousy, but stay focused on the prize ahead. A race requires discipline and perseverance. Keep running. Keep fighting. Keep pushing forward.
🎯 CONCLUSION
🔹 Focus on Jesus—the God of the possible—not on what seems impossible.
📖 Matthew 19:26
"With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
🔹 Believe God. Think differently. Refuse to back down. Fight back. Do things differently. Be brave. God is on your side. This is not arrogance, it is faith. It is believing that God desires to elevate His children.
