THEME: HARVEST THROUGH GIVING 🙏

Preacher : Pastor Kulu Sikazwe

✅ Mark 12:43–44 (NLT)
..This poor widow has given more than all the others who are making contributions. For they gave a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she had to live on."

Points to note from this passage ✍️

• Giving money in Gods house is a normal practice
• Yes, it's unfortunate that giving in the Church has been abused by some, but that does not mean we should not teach on giving or that we should not contribute towards the lord's work.

STATE OF THIS WOMAN ✍️

• She has suffered the loss of a husband who is the primary provider of the house.
• As a widow, she only has one source of income, unlike others who have spouses to provide.
• Not only is she a widow, she is also a poor woman (possibly as a result of losing a spouse).

1. PERSONAL COMMITMENT ✍️

✅ 44 For they gave a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she had to live on.”

• Despite what rich people gave, the widow showed total commitment to the work of God.
• She was not discouraged by the larger offerings of the rich.
• Your giving should not be stopped or influenced by what others are giving. You have your own account to God.
• How committed are we, as individuals, to supporting and building the work of God?

✅ Romans14:12
"So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God."

• Christianity is personal. Each of us has a role to play in the work of God.
• Building the work of God requires sacrifice through our finances and service in ministry which can be through, time, visiting others, and following up on visitors and fellow believers.

2. NO AMOUNT IS TOO SMALL ✍️

✅ 42 Then a poor widow came and dropped in two small coins.

• No one is too poor to give.
• Do not disqualify yourself from giving and generally in life, punch back!

✅ Zechariah 4:10 NLT
10 Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.”

• Small amounts (especially when there is consistency) have a way of adding and building up.
• Small consistent savings/investments also grow, don’t overlook small things.

3. RICH PEOPLE GAVE✍️

✅ Mark 12:41,44 (NLT)
“Many rich people put in large amounts…”
“For they gave a tiny part of their surplus…”

These people were very rich, meaning even a small portion of their surplus was still a large amount.

• It is okay to have many rich people in the Church. Wealth itself is not evil when it is surrendered to God and used for His work.

• Let us remove the notion that only a few people in church can be rich. God can bless His people in different ways, and those blessings can also help advance His kingdom.

• The issue was not that the rich people gave, but the condition of the heart behind the giving. God values sincerity, sacrifice, and obedience above the size of the offering.

✅ Ecclesiastes 4:9
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor:

• Working together enables us to achieve better results and accomplish more for the work of God. Unity strengthens the Church and increases our impact.
• Whether rich or poor, each person has something valuable to contribute.
• God never intended for His work to be carried by only a few people. When everyone participates faithfully, the burden becomes lighter.

CONCLUSION🙏

✅ 1 Corinthians 15:58 (ESV)
“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”

● Let us all remain committed to the work of the Lord through our finances, time, effort, and faithful service. Our labor in the Lord is never wasted. The seeds we sow today will produce a harvest both now and in eternity.

Make Prayer your first response, not your last resort. 🤲

In every season, whether in joy, confusion, pain, or gratitude, may we learn to bring everything before God and trust Him completely.

Seek God for yourself, speak to Him personally, and watch how He guides, strengthens, and transforms your life.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6:33 🙏

Yesterday was truly a beautiful and impactful day as we carried out our Social Impact Outreach, at St Lawrence Home of Hope Foundation 🙏.

It was a blessing and a privilege to spend time with the boys, share moments of joy and encouragement, and donate a few essential items to support the incredible work being done at the home.

Pastor Kulu Sikazwe shared a powerful word of encouragement with the boys, while Sister Priscilla Tembo, led them in an engaging game that beautifully demonstrated the importance of teamwork and unity 🤝.

According to Mr. Christopher Lungu, the Supervisor and Caregiver at Home of Hope Foundation, the home can house over 100 boys at a time, many of whom come from troubled homes, have special needs, or are in need of rehabilitation.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share love, encouragement, and hope. May God continue to strengthen and provide for the incredible work being done at the foundation 🙏.

Harvesting Through Mental Health (Part 2) 🧠

Preacher: Sister Priscilla Tembo 🙏

3 Simple Truths

1. A Troubled Mind Delays Harvest 🌧️

Example 2: The Wound of Rejection 💔

Feeling unwanted, unaccepted, or not chosen. Rejection whispers, “You are not enough.”

The Effects

● Constant need for approval

You are talented, but you wait for validation or people’s opinions before making a move, which delays your progress.

● Fear of abandonment.

You remain in toxic relationships or environments because you are afraid of being left alone.

● Sensitivity to criticism

You start a business or ministry, receive one negative comment, and immediately quit.

● Low self-worth 😞

You are qualified, yet you turn down opportunities because you feel you are not good enough.

2. A Healed Mind Recognises Opportunity ✨

Romans 12:2 📖

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind...”

When the mind heals, it positions you to recognise your harvest.

● A healed mind brings clarity 🔍

(Opportunities that were once ignored, feared, or misunderstood become clear)

● A healed mind gives peace in decision-making

(You are no longer trapped in negativity)

● A healed mind increases productivity 📈

(You value opportunities and respond to them with wisdom)

● A healed mind helps you endure 💪

(It becomes easier to stay strong during seasons of waiting, pressure, and setbacks)

3. Guarding Mental Health Protects Future Harvest 🛡️

4:23 📖

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

The mind is the soil where thoughts grow, decisions are made, and strength is sustained. If the mind is neglected, future harvests can be delayed, damaged, or even missed.

Some people are standing in fields ready for harvest but their mind is too burdened to gather what God has already provided. Guard your mind and protect your future harvest.

How Do We Do This?🤝

Spiritual Guarding

● Prayer (for good people, opportunities, and meaningful connections)
● Worship (connects you to God and shifts your focus from self to Him) 🎶
● Scripture meditation (brings mental peace) 📖
● Fellowship (encourages spiritual growth and support from others)

Practical Steps

● Rest (for both body and mind) 😴
● Healthy boundaries (protect your values, peace, and well-being)
● Seeking professional help 🩺
● Reducing toxic stress
● Talking to trusted people 🗣️❤️

Conclusion 🤝

Sometimes the issue is not laziness, enemies, witches, or lack of prayer — it is unhealed pain.

Some battles require healing, rest, wisdom, and healthy support systems. 🌿

When healing begins, life begins to move.

Harvesting Through Mental Health (Part 1) 🧠

Preacher : Sister Priscilla Tembo

Have you ever felt like your mind was your biggest battlefield? Many of us know how to pray, sow, fast, and work for a harvest, but one area that is often neglected, is the mind.

When the mind is wounded, distracted, or burdened, it becomes difficult to enjoy or gather the harvest God has placed before us. A healthy mind helps sustain a fruitful and productive life.

3 John 1:2 says:

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”

Mental health refers to the condition of our mind and emotions — how we think, cope, handle stress, relate with others, and function in daily life.

If our mental state is not well, it affects our focus, discipline, decision-making, energy to work consistently, and our ability to recognise opportunities.

3 SIMPLE TRUTHS 💭

James 1:8 says, “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.”

1. A troubled mind delays harvest.

A troubled mind struggles with clarity, peace, and confidence. Constant fear, anxiety, and overthinking create emotional instability and affect decisions, relationships, and spiritual growth.

● Opportunities may come, but fear blocks action.

● Blessings may be available, but depression removes joy.

● You pray for breakthrough, yet still expect failure.

● You start things with excitement but struggle to remain consistent.

Example: The Wound of Fear and Its Effects

Fear develops when someone feels unsafe, hurt, or threatened. It whispers, “What if it happens again?”

How Fear Affects You 😔

● Fear of trusting others

Past betrayal may stop you from forming healthy new connections.

● Fear of being hurt again

Heartbreak or disappointment may prevent you from loving people fully or joining new communities.

● Fear of rejection

You are gifted, yet you hide your gift because you fear people may laugh at or reject you.

● Fear of failure

🧠 You may have a beautiful dream or idea, but fear of failure keeps you from investing in it.

As much as fear feels like protection, it can limit growth and delay the harvest God has prepared for you.

How Do You Know Fear Is Affecting You? 😔

● You overthink decisions.
● You constantly expect negative outcomes.
● You feel anxious about the future.

In Part 2, we shall look at the Wound of Rejection — feeling unwanted, unaccepted, or not chosen.
Rejection whispers, “You are not enough.”

We shall also look at the 2nd and 3rd simple truths.

What you lost, God can RESTORE . What was broken, God can FIX. Don't lose HOPE 🙏

Joel 2: 25 - 26 (NIV) "I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten- the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm- my great army that i sent among you.

26: You will have plenty to eat, until you are full, and you will praise the name of the lord your God, who has worked wonders for you; never again will my people be shamed."

PRISONERS OF HOPE🙏

An impactful word from Pastor Kulu Sikazwe that stirred faith, renewed hope, and called us back to God, our Stronghold.

Zechariah 9:12 Return to your stronghold, O prisoners of hope; today I declare that I will restore to you double.

1. In 587 BCE, the Babylonians invaded Jerusalem. They destroyed the temple, deposed the Davidic ruler, and took many Jerusalemites into exile. Some seventy years later, descendants of the exiles began returning to their ancestral homeland (internet).

2. Some Israelites therefore only knew defeat while others never even knew what freedom meant.
3. The mental state of a foreigner in exile was thus one of defeat and one that expected nothing good.

4. Aperson in exile therefore has a mindset of lost hope and dreams.

5. A person in exile has no ownership of valuable assets such as land/houses, property etc

6.The standard of living of a person in exile is determined by their captors. These attributes are relatable to us as Africans/Zambians where our fate seems to be determined by outside forces.

AFRICA & ZAMBIA: A REALITY CHECK

❑ A significant portion of Africa’s population, especially in sub-Saharan Africa, continues to face extreme poverty.

❑ The continent also carries a heavy burden of global conflicts, affecting stability and livelihoods.

ZAMBIA

❑ As a nation, we face challenges such as unemployment, rising cost of living, healthcare pressures, global conflicts and climate shocks like droughts.

❑ At times, these realities can feel limiting, like being in exile, but they do not define our future.

PRISONER OF HOPE

Hope is a confident expectation that good things will happen in the future.

❑ The call is to return to our Stronghold (God) and put our trust in Him.

❑ A hopeless person is difficult to help.

1. GODS PLANS🙏

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you future and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future ".

🔥 Never lose HOPE! (Believe that)

🔥 Gods intention is for you to prosper (believe that )

🔥 Gods intention is not to harm you (believe that)

🔥 Gods intension is to give you hope and a future (believe that)

2. PUT YOUR HOPE IN GOD🙏

Isaiah 40:31 (NIV) But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles.; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be fait.

● Put your Hope in God's ability to lift you beyond your past limitations

● Put your hope in God to renew your strength over past failures

John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

● Gods plan is for you to have an abundant life (not lucking in anything spiritually, physically and Financially).

3. DOUBLE PORTION🙏

Zechariah 9:12 Return to your stronghold, O prisoners of hope; today I declare that I will restore to you double .

● Stand firm and keep hope alive. God is able to restore what was lost (reputation, possessions, land, temple, families etc).

Job 2:9 NIV His wife said to him, “Are you still maintaining your integrity? Curse God and die!”

● Stand firm. Do not 'throw in the towel' like Job's wife.

Job 42:10-12 10 "The LORD restored the fortunes of Job when he prayed for his friends, and the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before....:

CONCLUSION🙏

Put your hope in God, Do your part, He will do the rest to restore you double.

Be a prisoner of Hope.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all this through him, who gives me strength.

Go out there and do something in Hope!
