It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of the MREC Secretary, Mr. Ackan Daka, who passed away in the early hours of Sunday.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, friends, and everyone affected by this great loss. May God grant them strength, comfort, and peace during this difficult time.

YREC VISITS THE YOUTHS OF SIAVONGA

The Youth Regional Executive Committee (YREC) recently conducted a successful annual visitation and evangelism mission to the youths of Siavonga. The visit was aimed at strengthening fellowship, encouraging spiritual growth, and sharing the Gospel with both church members and the wider community.

Throughout the visitation, YREC members engaged the youths in various activities, including evangelistic outreach, Bible sharing, prayer sessions, worship, and interactive discussions. These activities provided an opportunity for young people to deepen their faith, encourage one another, and renew their commitment to serving Christ.

The annual visitation also served as a platform for YREC to assess the welfare of the youths, listen to their experiences, and offer guidance and encouragement in their Christian journey. The committee emphasized the importance of remaining steadfast in faith, actively participating in church programs, and being ambassadors of Christ within their communities.

The evangelism outreach reached many people with the message of God's love, hope, and salvation. Youths were challenged to live lives that reflect Christian values and to boldly share the Gospel wherever they are.

Speaking during the visit, YREC expressed gratitude to the Siavonga youths for their warm hospitality, enthusiasm, and active participation throughout the program. The committee encouraged them to continue growing in unity, love, and service to God, assuring them of continued support through future visitations and ministry activities.

The visitation concluded with prayers, thanksgiving, and a renewed commitment by both YREC and the Siavonga youths to work together in advancing God's Kingdom. It was a memorable and spiritually enriching experience that strengthened the bond between the committee and the local youth fellowship while reaffirming the church's mission of making disciples through evangelism.

Good evening,
I trust you are all doing well.
This is a gentle reminder that tomorrow, the RCZ Women's Fellowship will be celebrating 80 years of Faith, Fellowship, and Service at the Lusaka Showgrounds. This is a significant milestone in the life of our church, and all RCZ congregations within Lusaka will gather there for a united worship service.
The RCZ National Youth Desk is therefore calling upon all RCZ youths to come out in large numbers to support the Women's Fellowship and be part of this memorable celebration. We kindly encourage all youths to wear their official RCZ youth uniforms as a sign of unity, identity, and solidarity.
We further appeal to all Lusaka-based YRECs to share this message with their respective presbyteries and congregations, mobilize our youths, and encourage them to attend this important event. Let us show our appreciation for the Women's Fellowship by standing with them as they celebrate eight decades of faithful service to God and the Church.

CONDOLENCE STATEMENT

THE REFORMED CHURCH IN ZAMBIA MOURNS THE
PASSING OF HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS PARAMOUNT CHIEF MPEZENI IV

The RCZ joins the nation in mourning His royal highness, Ngwenyama Paramount
Chief Mpezeni IV who passed away on 30th May 2026. We are deeply saddened by
his passing and therefore stand in solidarity with the Ngoni Royal Family and Royal
Establishment. His loss is deeply felt as his leadership, wisdom, and devotion to his
people touched countless lives, even beyond his chiefdom.

The RCZ is profoundly saddened with the passing of Ngwenyama IV because its
history is deeply intertwined with the Ngoni Chiefdom. Chief Mpezeni, in 1899,
invited and welcomed Dutch missionaries from the then Orange Free State in South
Africa to establish mission work in his chiefdom. As a result, the first congregation
was founded at Magwero, Chipata, on 5th July 1899. From that time to the present,
successive chiefs, including Ngwenyama IV who was installed on 19th June 1982 at
Ephendukeni Palace and reigned for 44 years (1982–2026), have been instrumental in
supporting the growth of the RCZ within their chiefdoms. Consequently, many RCZ
congregations are firmly established across the Ngoni Chiefdom, making use of
traditional land both as sacred ground for worship and as a vital resource for
economic sustenance.

The reign of Ngwenyama IV was marked by cultural preservation, community-
focused development, and national recognition. His leadership, vision, and
commitment to progress will be greatly missed not only by the Ngoni people but by
the entire nation of Zambia. His legacy of fostering unity, progress, and faith will
continue to inspire generations.

The Reformed Church in Zambia offers prayers for strength, consolation, and comfort
for the Royal Family, the Ngoni Royal Establishment, and the people of Zambia
during this difficult time. Indeed, the great tree has fallen.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
