Repentance and Forgiveness

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

Repentance and forgiveness are at the heart of the Christian experience. Through the story of Israel's golden calf apostasy (Exodus 32–34), we learn that although people often fall into sin, God is always ready to forgive and restore those who sincerely repent and turn back to Him.

Life's responsibilities and distractions can gradually pull us away from God. The Sabbath reminds us to slow down, spend time with Him, and place Him first. When we drift away, Jesus invites us back into a close relationship with Him.

The wedding garment represents Christ's righteousness. We cannot save ourselves through good works or personal effort. Only Jesus can cover our sins and make us acceptable before God. Salvation is received by faith in His righteousness alone.

PRAYER

Peace is found in Jesus, not in earthly things. He is our safety, security, contentment and relief. His greatness reaches everywhere, all the time, penetrating our hearts to the core. He is our lasting peace, not fleeting moments of joy. He is our Good Shepherd, providing eternal security and comfort. In Jesus, we have it all - true peace that never changes.

PRAYER
Lord Jesus, help me to look to You for true and lasting peace, rather than seeking it in the temporary things of this world. May I find solace in You, and may I be comforted by Your presence. Amen.
