2 Corinthians 3:2-3 (KJV) Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.
The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the Lord will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.
But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.
Lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.

Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men. And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him. And when he had gone a little further thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets. And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.

VERSE
And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.
-- Micah 5:5
KJV Holy Bible

DEVOTION
Peace is found in Jesus, not in earthly things. He is our safety, security, contentment and relief. His greatness reaches everywhere, all the time, penetrating our hearts to the core. He is our lasting peace, not fleeting moments of joy. He is our Good Shepherd, providing eternal security and comfort. In Jesus, we have it all - true peace that never changes.

PRAYER
Lord Jesus, help me to look to You for true and lasting peace, rather than seeking it in the temporary things of this world. May I find solace in You, and may I be comforted by Your presence. Amen.

VERSE
Luke 2:16-20 (KJV) And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.
And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.
And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

INSPIRATION
Mary took on faith what she had herself experienced and heard, but had yet not come to fully accept or understand. It may be hard for us too, in the face of God’s majesty and power, to simply accept these miracles and pass on through the Testament. However, take Mary as an example, who was entrusted with perhaps accepting the greatest miracle of all, we should take all these things and ponder on them within our hearts, until their innate truth is revealed, until their prophecies are fulfilled before our very eyes.

PRAYER
Lord God above, thy Kingdom come and thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Teach us to follow in your grace, and trust in your miracles.Even though our life is finite and our understanding is limited, I still seek your light and drink from the fountains of your truth. In your works I place my faith, blind as I am to your designs. Lift the veil from my eyes Lord, and allow me to see the beauty of your word that has been manifested in the flesh of all things. Amen.

VERSE
1 Peter 3:15 (KJV) But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

INSPIRATION
To those who know nothing of God’s love, it may seem quite unintuitive how someone might devote themselves to the Lord. The better we know and understand this ourselves, the better may we provide an answer to these questions from others. Look deep within yourself to find these answers, or consult with your ministers. Questions are not like plagues, to be avoided at all costs. They are how we find our truth; do not shirk them, but welcome them.

PRAYER
God Almighty my redeemer and salvation, grant me strength to search in Your light for the truth. I may not always be certain, and doubts may sometimes plague my mind, but grant me the fortitude to march forward in Your name, spreading truth amongst those who have not yet accepted You into their hearts. Amen.

For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 Corinthians 5:1

5:1 “We know”– what Paul speaks of is not speculation. It is knowledge based on God’s revelation of truth. By “earthly house” he means our physical bodies (v 4). They will die – if death comes before the return of Christ (1 Cor 15:51-52).
But what does he mean by a “building from God”, “an eternal house”? There is disagreement about his meaning. He may be referring to “the Father’s house” of John 14:2. See also Heb 11:10; 13:14; Rev 21:10-27; Luke 16:9. Or Paul may mean the resurrection bodies which believers will receive at Christ’s coming (1 Cor 15:35-53). If “tent” is our present body, “house” would seem to mean a future body, and one not temporary as a tent is.

VERSE

Romans 1:16 (KJV) For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

INSPIRATION

We should wear our faith in Christ on our chests for the world to see. We have no reason to be ashamed of the fact that we have decided to follow Jesus. As Christians, we have realized that there is no other way than the way of Christ. There is no other name more powerful than the name of Jesus. The gospel of Christ comes full of power because it testifies to the victory of Jesus Christ that He won for all mankind.

PRAYER

Dear God, I can state, boldly, that I am fully convicted by Your word and I am totally proud of being identified as a Christian. I am not ashamed of the world knowing that I follow You wholeheartedly. To the world, it may be foolishness, but I know that this is the only life to live. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

(VERSE)
Zephaniah 3:17 (KJV) The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

(INSPIRATION)
This verse is an example of God’s promises that have never expired. God has always promised to be with us – even before we became faithful to Him. God’s love runs deep for his children – the lost and the found. He has chosen to remain with us until the last day and He does not intend on changing that. If you ever find yourself questioning whether God is with you or not, take heart and know this truth: God will always be with you. Always.

(PRAYER)
Dear God, I just want to thank you for your faithfulness. Lord, in a world where one struggles to find a faithful person, I am so grateful that I can put my trust in you without worry. Thank you, Father, for allowing me to be a recipient of your love. My life would be nothing without you, Lord. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

(VERSE)
Psalms 5:11 (KJV) But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.

(INSPIRATION)
Faith in God and love for God naturally go with joy of spirit. Christians will have troubles in life like anyone else and may even be persecuted for their faith, but there is still a deep, inner joy that nothing can destroy. It is the joy of knowing that we belong to God as his children, that He is ever watching over us for good, and that we will spend eternity in his presence.

(PRAYER)
Lord, you are the giver of true joy. The world has its so-called joy that is merely based on being in presently favorable circumstances. We have a joy based on a relationship with you that can never change. In good times, we rejoice in your gift; in dark times, may our joy shine all the brighter, that the world may wonder and be drawn to your light. Amen

(VERSE)
Galatians 3:26-27 (KJV) For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

(INSPIRATION)
There is physical baptism with water, but here Paul seems to speak of spiritual baptism with the Spirit of God. It is that baptism that made us God's children through faith and causes us to "put on" Christ. To put on Christ would be to put on his character, Christlikeness.

(PRAYER)
We are your children, O Lord, for you have made us such. By faith, you adopted us; by the Spirit, you sanctified us to yourself. As physical children resemble their parents, so make us also to resemble you, being your spiritual children. Let us strive today to live in a way that lets all see that we are the children of God indeed. Amen
