5 Stages Of A Marriage
I had fun writing this ๐
๐
Stage 1
The Honeymoon Phase: "Happily Ever Laughter"
Ah, the honeymoon phase โ where love is as fresh as your first cup of morning coffee. You finish each other's sentences and genuinely believe they find your dad jokes hilarious. You're convinced you've married a stand-up comedian because everything they say is comedy gold. Little do you know, they're just trying to win you over before revealing their real and true colors ๐คฆโโ๏ธ.You call him and he says, โImagine I was about to call you, it's like we're thinking of each other " how sweet right ?๐คฃ๐คฃ,you just wait...
This stage you can't eat anything if your spouse isn't around, you can wait up till 2 am so you can eat together. How lovely of you๐
.
At night you sleep on his chest, he holds you the whole night till his hands gets a muscle pull, but oh he doesn't complain. You just wait ๐
.
Stage 2
The Reality Checkpoint: "Laundry and Other short Stories"
This is the stage where you realize that happily ever after involves a fair share of dirty socks on the floor and debates about the correct way to load the dishwasher. You argue about why he hang the tissue from front to back, his chewing irritates you, you can't stand his morning breath,do I even talk about the toilet sit being up and his little urine splash all over the toilet sit every time he uses the bathroom. He doesn't carry his plate to the sink after dinner anymore, actually he wakes up, goes to the sink to wash his hands and leaves the plate on the table ๐คฃ.The audacity.
It's also in who takes out the trash more often and survives the battle of the TV remote. You've traded candlelit dinners for arguing about whose turn it is to cook โ the true test of eternal love.
Stage 3
The Parenthood Circus:
Before you even breath and have a sigh of relief , you're welcomed to the chaotic yet heartwarming circus of parenthood. Your once neat and peaceful home is now a jungle gym with toys everywhere and sleep has become a rare and cherished commodity. This man fakes calls just to get out of the house and breath some fresh air and have a peaceful and quiet time with himself. It's crazy in the house.
Date nights now involve strategic planning, negotiating with tiny dictators (your adorable children), and praying for a babysitter miracle. Your conversations revolve around baby talk, potty training victories, and debating who gets to be the "good cop" today.
Kids go through school, bills have increased and you're balancing between parenthood, being a lover and work. This is where many call it quits.
Stage 4
The Empty Nest Ballet: "Dancing Through the Quiet"
Now with the kids off to conquer the world (or at least their college dorms), your house echoes with a newfound silence. It's just you and your spouse, remembering what life was like when there weren't three different school drop-offs to coordinate.
You rediscover the lost connection and start enjoying dinner dates without the stress of coordinating schedules and weekends without soccer practice. The challenge now is not finding quality time together but remembering what to do with it.You realize you love each other and you were just being overwhelmed by the parenting circus stage.
Stage 5.
The resting stage.
Here you've reached the stage where your love story is a classic, like a fine wine that only gets better with time. You've weathered storms, celebrated victories, and realized that love is not just a feeling but a choice you make every day, it's choosing to love your partner even when they least deserve it. You now understand love is a commitment and not just a feeling.
Your idea of a perfect evening now involves fuzzy slippers, a good book, and maybe a bit of snoring. You now consider "Netflix and Chill" an actual evening plan, and your idea of a romantic evening is just snogging and cuddling on the couch. You've perfected the art of finishing each other's sentences, and laughing at the silliest things and memories.Together, you've become the grandmasters of love, navigating life's challenges hand in hand with a shared smile and a heart full of memories. You know no one is going anywhere ๐ฅฐ.
You've mastered the art of compromise, and your teamwork skills are on top. You've embraced each other's imperfections and found a way to keep the flame burning even when life throws it's worst situations your way.
Marriage at this stage is peaceful and full of love, it's like a second honeymoon, better than the first one, full of laughter, love, and joy.
