The event held under a theme "DRIVEN BY PRAYER , MOVED BY FAITH" attracted several dignitaries, including President Hichilema as the Guest of Honour , former Vice President Dr. Nevers Mumba, Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet Dr. Oliver Kalabo, church leaders and hundreds of young people from across the Lusaka Conference.
President Hakainde Hichilema has donated K200,000 to the Lusaka Conference Adventist Youth Ministries to support community service initiatives and has further pledged a bus, expected to be delivered within a week's time.
Announcing the donation through Dr Vanny Munyumbwe , President for Southern Zambia Union Conference and Pastor Francis Chibiya, President for Lusaka Conference at the Big Sabbath Fellowship at Blessings Centre in Lusaka, Pastor Chibiya said, "President Hichilema has donated K200,000 to the Adventist Youth Ministries, and these funds will go towards supporting various community service programmes that will benefit our communities."
Addressing youths, President Hichilema commended the Adventist youth for organising a prayer gathering at a crucial time as the country prepares for the general elections in about three weeks.
"We should cherish the peace that we enjoy in our country," President Hichilema said, urging Zambians to safeguard unity and harmony before, during and after the elections.
The President praised the youth for combining spiritual growth with practical service to society, describing their community outreach programmes as an example worthy of emulation across the country. He said he was inspired by the presentations showcasing the projects undertaken by the young people and encouraged them to remain committed to serving vulnerable members of society.
He further urged young people to continue bringing together initiatives that promote prayer, unity and community service that benefits the Nation.
