Makeni Mission District Camp Meeting Begins Today
Theme: “Anchored in Hope”
Makeni Mission District begins its much-anticipated Camp Meeting today, 23 August 2026, bringing together members and friends of the church for a special season of worship, fellowship, spiritual renewal and Bible study.
What is Camp Meeting?
In the Seventh-day Adventist Church, a Camp Meeting is a special gathering where church members, families and visitors come together for several days of worship, preaching, Bible study, prayer, fellowship and spiritual growth. It provides an opportunity for believers to temporarily step away from their normal routines and focus their minds and hearts on God.
Camp Meeting is also an important time for strengthening relationships within the church family, sharing testimonies, receiving spiritual encouragement and recommitting ourselves to the mission of spreading the Gospel.
The 2026 Camp Meeting
This year's Camp Meeting is being held under the inspiring theme, “Anchored in Hope.” The theme reminds believers that, regardless of the challenges and uncertainties of life, our hope must remain firmly anchored in Jesus Christ.
The main speaker for the Camp Meeting is Pastor Everisto Mwiinga, who will be hosted by Pastor Nicholas Mtetesha. With the programme expected to feature powerful preaching, Bible studies, prayer, praise and fellowship, the campsite is set to be a hive of activity throughout the gathering.
The campsite, located approximately 29 kilometres from Lusaka's Central Business District, will welcome members from across the Makeni Mission District and beyond.
