REJOICE
Proof Text: Philippians 4:4
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!”
As Christians, we are commended to rejoice always - in season and out of season, when we feel like it and when we don’t feel like it. This is because a man of faith does not allow his emotions to dictate his direction.
Rejoicing shows our faith in what God has promised. It is the evidence of the assurance that we have, which is that He will do what He says He will do. Listen: Rejoicing does not mean that there won’t be trials or tests. No! Rejoicing is the mindset of a man of faith who knows that trials are the soul through which he will flourish.
Once he found out the purpose of his test, Job said: “ … when He has tested me I will come forth as gold” (Job 23:10). When you find out the reason for your test and trials, you will rejoice endlessly. What followed after Job had been tried was a proof that nothing happens for nothing and nothing happens by chance.
Your trials may be numerous, but they are like exams. They are meant to test you before you can be promoted.
What is your trial today?
Whatever it may be, God is working out the answer. So, rejoice! Do not let anything steal your joy. Guard it jealously. It is your weapon of victory, your weapon of warfare. Rejoice!
What God has promised, He is able to fulfill. It is not in His plan to see you suffer. Rejoice in the Lord always!
Prayer: Father, I thank You for the grace to be filled with joy. Help me to keep rejoicing in You. Keep me joyful no matter what comes my way. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
