GLORIA BANDA - YOUNG ADULT OF THE WEEK
Hello, meet Gloria N. P. Banda our Young Adult of the week! Gloria is the Young Adults Chairperson at St Kibuka ZAF Centre. She also serves as Vice Secretary for the Main Choir at St Kibuka. She is a member of the Young Adults Media Committee at Parish level.
Gloria has previously served as Secretary (2017-2018) for the Youth Council at St Kibuka. She has a passion for the little ones and has served as Holy Childhood Coordinator at St Kibuka since 2010.
Among her active involvements at St Kibuka include; Liturgical Committee, member of Nyanja readers, Youth Choir and St Ignatius SCC Choir.
Gloria is married and has two beautiful girls.
“I love singing, dancing, reading and baking. I am interested in fashion and design,” she said.
“I like interacting with new people to learn new things as I believe learning never ends. We learn anywhere, anytime.”
Gloria did her primary and junior secondary education at Ndeke Basic School from 1998 to 2006. She did her senior secondary education at Munali Girls’ High School from 2007 to 2009.
Gloria did her Computer Fundamentals at Kays Technologies and then studied hairdressing and cosmetology at Lusaka Business and Technical College (LBTC). Currently she is in her second year pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
“Being a member of the young adults has made me grow in my spirituality and has also helped me to view certain things in a more critical way. I am learning new things from our group interactions,” she said.
“I would encourage those in the age group 25 to 35 to join the young adults group. Whether married or with children. Enjoy your youth and be of service. We as young adults have the mandate to mentor our younger ones who are following behind and we are preparing to take the leadership of our Church.”
