Theme of the Year: "2024 The Year of Divine Influence"
Daniel 1:9-15
Message for today at T.O.G Nampundwe on 20th October 2024:
"People Who Refuse To Move On Their Own"
Scripture readings:
Deuteronomy 1:6-8.
Deuteronomy 1:6 The LORD our God said to us at Horeb, "You have stayed long enough at this mountain.
Deuteronomy 1:7 Break camp and advance into the hill country of the Amorites; go to all the neighboring peoples in the Arabah, in the mountains, in the western foothills, in the Negev and along the coast, to the land of the Canaanites and to Lebanon, as far as the great river, the Euphrates.
Deuteronomy 1:8 See, I have given you this land. Go in and take possession of the land the LORD swore he would give to your fathers —to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob —and to their descendants after them."

Child of God let us look at WHY some people DON'T WANT TO move on their own unless they are rushed or forced;
1.Fear to leave confont zone.
Deuteronomy 1:6 The LORD our God said to us at Horeb, "You have stayed long enough at this mountain.
Exodus 3:1 Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.
2. Laziness attitude.
Proverbs 24:33
NIV: A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest —
Proverbs 24:34
NIV: and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.

3. Having the thoughts of failure.
Genesis 18:12 So Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, "After I am worn out and my lord is old, will I now have this pleasure?"

4. Entertaining sickness as an excuse to progress.
St. John 5:5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
St. John 5:6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
St. John 5:7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me in

Remembering and honoring your parents during times of success is a beautiful practice, and many scriptures emphasize the importance of gratitude and honoring one's parents. Here are a few scriptures that reflect this:

1. **Exodus 20:12 (NIV)**
“Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.”
- This verse from the Ten Commandments reminds us to always honor our parents, which can be especially meaningful during times of success.

2. **Proverbs 23:22 (NIV)**
"Listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old."
- A reminder to cherish and respect the wisdom and love of parents.

3. **Ephesians 6:2-3 (NIV)**
"Honor your father and mother"—which is the first commandment with a promise—"so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."
- This verse connects the act of honoring parents with blessings and well-being in life.

4. **Proverbs 1:8-9 (NIV)**
"Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. They are a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck."
- Success in life is often tied to the teachings and guidance of our parents, and this scripture highlights the importance of remembering their wisdom.

Please 🙏 let's remember our parents in anyway that we can,
Stay blessed in Jesus name Amen and Amen .
