Do you know that the Month of May is very special to Catholic Community in Zambia?

His Holiness Saint John Paul II visited Zambia in May 1989, and upon arriving in the country; he kissed the ground as a profound sign of humility, reverence, and affection for the land and its people, essentially blessing the nation and acknowledging it as holy ground.

This Eucharistic Celebration was held where there is now Cathedral of the Child Jesus (Pope Square).

𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗜𝗦 𝗦𝗣𝗬 𝗪𝗘𝗗𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗗𝗔𝗬?
▪︎Spy Wednesday is the traditional name for 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸. It recalls the day Judas secretly 𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀 for thirty pieces of silver.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 "𝗦𝗽𝘆" 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆?
Because Judas was acting in secret. He was moving like a spy among the Apostles while planning to hand Our Lord over.

But this day is not meant to leave us in despair.
It is meant to call us back. Even in the middle of betrayal, Jesus continues walking toward the Cross for our salvation.

Holy Week invites us to stay close to Jesus.
Spy Wednesday reminds us what happens when a heart grows cold, when love of money wins, or when we stop being watchful. And that is what makes Spy Wednesday SO personal. It is not only about Judas. It is also a day for us to ask: 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗜 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁? Or i have also betrayed Him through sin, silence, or compromise?

𝗦𝗢 𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗟𝗗 𝗪𝗘 𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗖𝗦 𝗞𝗘𝗘𝗣 𝗦𝗣𝗬 𝗪𝗘𝗗𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗗𝗔𝗬?
▪︎Go to Confession if you can .
▪︎Pray the Sorrowful Mysteries .
▪︎Read Matthew 26:14-25 .
▪︎Make a quiet examination of conscience
▪︎Ask for the grace to be faithful to Jesus Christ.
