Jesus Christ gave his Apostles the priesthood by the laying on of hands. The priesthood is the authority to act in the name of God. It is essential part of the church of Jesus Christ.

1 And again, my brethren, I would cite your minds forward to the time when the Lord God gave these commandments unto his children; and I would that ye should remember that the Lord God ordained priests, after his holy order, which was after the order of his Son, to teach these things unto the people.

Welcome to President and Sister Moyo!

We are so much grateful for the incredible goodness of the people of Zambia and Malawi and hundreds of missionaries from dozens of nations who have touched us forever. We have watched the incredible work of the Lord go forth with countless miracles. What a privilege it has been! We are grateful for the faith and testimonies of President and Sister Moyo from Zimbabwe and we know that they have been called by revelation to preside over the great Zambia Lusaka Mission for the next three years. May God's choicest blessings continue to flow abundantly over the people of Zambia and Malawi, and the wonderful missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who serve them. All our Love, President and Sister Whiting

M’bwetu Primary School in Malawi has 1,800 students & only 8 classrooms! The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints humanitarian department built 12 classrooms, 3 offices, 430 desks, & donated 144 solar lights to assist this school so that young lives will be blessed with the gift of knowledge. On June 9th, hundreds of people, mostly families and students, attended the official handover ceremony. President Leinhard Amos, president of the Lilongwe District of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was present to represent local church leadership. The event was covered by local news media. Elder and Sister Pease are doing an amazing job as humanitarian missionaries!!

Congratulations to Elder Naegle and Sister Bhembe who finished their full-time missionary service this transfer. Elder Naegle returned home to his family in America and Sister Bhembe was welcomed by her family in Eswatini. Both of these missionaries were a significant part of our mission and they will be very missed! We know the Lord will bless them as they continue to on the covenant path as life-long disciples of Jesus Christ.

Incoming and outgoing missionaries this transfer!

Five missionaries finished their full-time service and returned home to their families! Sister Zwane (Eswatini), Elder Wilson, Sister Morley, and Elder Kelsch (USA), Elder Shimata (DRC), and Elder Mesele (Ghana). These elders and sisters were a great asset to our mission and we’re so grateful for their loving and dedicated service to the Lord! We will miss them!

We also had six new missionaries join the Zambia Lusaka Missionary force. They are Sister Keitirile (Botswana), Elder Masuku (Eswatini), Elder Woolley, Elder Fronk, and Elder Seay (USA), and Elder Gareta (Zimbabwe). We’re grateful to have them as part of our mission and look forward to working with them as disciples of Christ in Zambia and Malawi!

We had a great zone conference with the Lusaka Zone last week at the Matero/Lilanda meeting house. Through study and faith, these elders and sisters are working diligently and improving in their ability to invite others to come unto Christ! We appreciate all they do to be exemplary examples of disciples of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

It's transfers again this week! (Where DOES the time go!) We have new missionaries coming and going, but YIKES! we haven't posted about those who came and left last transfer! So, since it's better late than never, here's a throwback to the new missionaries who arrived in March, and to those who honorably completed their missions and returned home! We love 'em all!

New missionaries: Sister Jamu from Zimbabwe, Sister Kisakye from Uganda, and Sister Rial from the USA. We also got a temporary missionary, Elder Chansa from Lusaka, who will serve in our mission while awaiting his visa to Kenya!

Missionaries who completed their mission! Elder Tersoo from Nigeria, Elder Wegbe from Ghana, Elder Calder, Elder Nawahine, and Sister Cooper all from the USA, and Elder Bravender from Canada.

Our Temple and Family History Challenge, 2022, focuses the hearts of the members and missionaries on being worthy to enter the holy temple personally, and to seek to provide saving ordinances for loved ones who have gone beyond the veil. Already there have been many beautiful experiences that testify of the truthfulness that the sealing power is again on the earth, and that families can live "together forever in eternal relationships that transcend death." (Restoration Proclamation).

This photograph of Elder Doug Angle, serving in Malawi, teaching a member about this hopeful and beautiful doctrine, is one of my favorites. The restored gospel of Jesus Christ is rolling forth to the ends of the earth, and the glorious truths are being proclaimed! The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has the best resource on earth for discovering and connecting you to your ancestors.

If you have yet to accept the Temple and Family History Challenge 2022, or just want to learn more about it, contact one of our missionaries or message this page.

Missionaries in Lilongwe and Kasungu gathered together for zone conference on February 11th, 2022! We got a special bonus of three senior couples attending since Elder and Sister Hales were visiting Malawi to make sure all the missionary flats are in good working order! We had some great presentations by the Zone Leaders and the Assistants, plus so many good contributions from all the missionaries. With three senior couples involved, you know lunch was great. I'm just sayin ;)
