23rd of September, 2026 Devotion:

*Title:*"Sticks and Stones"

The old expression, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me,” is quite simply... just not true!
Words are powerful!
They can cut like a knife and leave painful wounds that can lead to a lifetime of self-doubt, poor self-esteem, and self-loathing!
How you use your words can either help or hurt others.
The sad thing about hateful words is that once spoken, they can never be taken back!
The damage is done.
That’s why it’s so important to choose your words carefully, speak with kindness, and always consider how your words will be received.
A kind, gentle word can do wonders to lift someone's spirits and bring joy and healing to a broken heart.
The Bible says in Proverbs 15:23, “A person finds joy in giving an apt reply and how good is a timely word!”
The most powerful words come from the Bible, God’s Holy Word.
If we truly listen to what He is saying, God gives us the instruction, courage, strength, and wisdom we need to speak in such a manner that we represent Him, and as long as Jesus is shining through, you never have to worry about saying the wrong thing!

A journey of faith, service, leadership, discipline, and character development. From generation to generation, Pathfinders continue to grow, serve, and lead young people closer to Christ.
