Preacher: Pst Moston Mweemba
Memory Text: Acts 19:11–20; Acts 1:8
Sermon Title: Who Are You?
Acts 19 shows how God performed extraordinary miracles through Paul. However, the power was not in Paul's clothes or in Paul himself, it came from God. Paul was simply an instrument surrendered to God.
The sons of Sceva tried to use the name of Jesus without having a genuine relationship with Him. The evil spirit responded, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?” This challenges every Christian to examine their relationship with Christ.
Our identity should not depend on our family, church position, title or association with other believers. We must know Jesus personally. God looks beyond our outward appearance and looks at our hearts.
Acts 1:8 reminds us that true spiritual power comes from the Holy Spirit. We cannot manufacture God's power or use Christianity as a performance. We need to surrender ourselves completely to God.
The events in Ephesus also brought repentance and transformation. People confessed their wrong practices and turned away from them. This shows that genuine revival produces a changed life.
The Word of God continued to spread and grow in power. Our ministries, preaching, singing, and community service should all point people to Jesus.
Main Lesson
The question “Who are you?” is not only about our name or position. It is about our relationship with God.
Do you know Jesus personally?
Is your heart surrendered to Him?
Are you allowing the Holy Spirit to work through you?
Is there something you need to let go of?
Does your life point others to Christ?
The God who worked through Paul is still the same God today. Surrender your life to Him, trust His power, and allow Him to use you for His glory.
