God is good, gracious & generous. He wants to share our joys & solve our challenges. Jesus came to earth to help us & open heaven to all who believe. May we learn of him & believe like his disciples.

Dear Jesus, help me to understand the truth of who You are as revealed in Your Word. May I come to know You as my God and Savior. Amen.

INSPIRATION
We know that God saved us from the power of darkness through his son’s death and resurrection. We have been delivered from Satan’s clutches. But, we have not simply been delivered, we have been invited into his son’s kingdom. We have been invited in to a place we do not deserve. It’s like offering a beggar from the street a seat at the head of the table. We not only are free from sin on earth, we get to celebrate alongside our King in Heaven for eternity.

PRAYER
Dear God, this world is full of darkness. I know Satan is real, but I know you have defeated him. He has no power over me because I am a child of God. When I am facing the darkness, send your spirit to guide me and protect me. Thank you for your son, Jesus Christ, who delivered me from the power of sin and darkness. I rejoice in my deliverance and my welcome into your kingdom. In Jesus’ name, amen.

1 Thessalonians 4:14 (KJV) For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

INSPIRATION
In this verse, we are assured that all who have died, who were believers of Christ, will also be resurrected on the day of Christ’s return. Paul refers to believers who have passed on as those who are “sleeping” which implies that their state is temporary; they will be woken up at a later time. We can take comfort in these words whenever we lose a fellow brother or sister in Christ, knowing that there will be a day where we will all be reunited.

PRAYER
Dear God, it breaks my heart whenever I lose someone close to me. But I am comforted when I know that they believed in You and Your son, Jesus Christ, because I know that a time will come where we will be together again. Lord, I pray for all of those who are yet to believe in You. Father, I pray that they will be exposed to Your love, and compelled to receive salvation so that they can also be a part of Your glorious inheritance. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Romans 6:23 (KJV) For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

INSPIRATION
We cannot appreciate the magnitude of God's gift of eternal life until we first understand that the wages of sin is death. Wages are what we "earned," what we "deserve." "Death" is not only physical death, here, but spiritual and eternal death. Our sin was an offense to the infinitely holy God, and thus justly deserved eternal punishment. But God's grace, which was greater than all our sin, brings us eternal life instead.

PRAYER
Lord, help us to see that your punishment for sin is just and to sense something of the true heinousness of sin. Help us to appreciate more fully how much we were forgiven, and having been forgiven much, to love much. Amen

1 John 4:18 (KJV) There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

INSPIRATION
Perhaps our greatest fears in love are tied up with that of rejection, or of our partners being unfaithful. These fears may torment us, and often as a result negatively affect our relationships as our torments transform into paranoia, suspicions, and isolation. These are all understandable attempts at self-preservation, to keep oneself from being vulnerable and hurt, but ultimately they result in also destroying everything. In matters of the spirit, we must remain resolute in God, faithful in His promise never to leave or abandon us. In matters of our Lord, we must keep our hearts free from fear, for in Him we have found a lasting partner and merciful Father.

PRAYER
Lord and Heavenly Father, who’s house has many mansions, I pray for You to keep me from fear. Take my darkness, my insecurities and suspicions, and show them the light of Your truth, which never leaves us. Strengthen my trust in Your love. I ask this so I may be thy perfect partner and servant, blessed in everlasting love, Amen.

INSPIRATION

God is the Creator and the Preserver of all the universe. He did not create it and then abandon it to go its own way, but he every moment upholds it in existence or it would immediately cease to be. All things in sky, and earth, and sea are the works of his hands and are ever under his sovereign rule.

PRAYER

O Creator of all things, I cannot begin to fathom the works of Your hands. Their number is so great and the wisdom they display so intricate as to be beyond my understanding. How much greater, then, must You be who made them? Each moment You uphold me in existence; my life and breath are ever in Your hands. Teach me to live in the light of these truths. Amen

INSPIRATION

The wicked are often known by their speech. Though they can hide what is in their heart and speak to cover it up, at some point inevitably, of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. The wicked are violent against God, His truth, and His people; they rage about looking for some person on whom to vent their anger against God.

PRAYER

O Lord, You have poured down untold blessings of grace upon the head of Your people, but the world is hostile to You, Your Word, and Your children. We walk like Daniel among lions, but You can shut the mouths of the lions. We shine as lights in a pitch-black night, but the darkness cannot overcome the light. We will not fear man, for if God is for us, who can prevail against us? Amen

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

(INSPIRATION)
Christ is always with us. There is no trial or tribulation that will take His love away. These verses are a great reminder for us when we face challenges. How can we fail with the infinite love of Jesus with us at all times? We are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. Now start to live like it!

(PRAYER)
I am weak, my Lord. I have doubted Your love of me. My faith has wavered during difficult trials and obstacles, but You never left me. I thank you with all my heart for always being by my side, even though I do not deserve it. As with Jesus, I want to be so much more than a conqueror with You by my side, with the unwavering love of Jesus as my guide. I aim to serve You and it is in Your son’s holy name I pray. Amen.

This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.
This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

(INSPIRATION)
Alleluia! Alleluia! Christ is risen! This truly is the day that the Lord has made! Praise and glory to you, Lord, because of your great goodness! Because of the Resurrection, we know that we too will rise on the last day! This hope gave courage to the early Christians who were being persecuted and it gives us hope for our lives as well. God could have redeemed us in many different ways, but he chose to send his Son, Jesus into the world so that we would know how to live; we would know of our salvation, and we know that we, too, would rise. Jesus death redeemed us and we would have been redeemed, but without the resurrection, how would we know? We cannot thank God enough for both his sacrifice and his resurrection. If we have prepared for this day during Lent, then our celebration is even more joyful. Joy! That little bubble of something that just wells up in you like the bubbles in sparkling water! More than happiness, more than pleasure, joy is something once experienced you just want to feel it again! That is what God wants us to feel today! This joy comes from God’s presence within you. More than new clothes, more than candy or any other gift, God’s joy will fill your entire being. The Easter following my son’s death, I experienced this feeling of joy throughout my entire body. The memory of it sustains me in the days when life seems difficult, and makes me even more desirous of living as God wants me to. I feel that it is a foretaste of eternal life. I pray that each of you will experience this joy today.

(PRAYER)
Loving Father, I give you thanks every day for the great gift you have given me, and I pray that all of your children will come to an even deeper appreciation of the gift of salvation. Amen
