[9]For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light do we see light. [John 4:10, 14.]

Hebrews 4:16 (KJV) Let us therefore come boldly unto the THRONE OF GRACE, that we may obtain MERCY, and find GRACE to help in time of need.

VERSE
And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.
-- Psalms 39:7
KJV Holy Bible

DEVOTION
As time passes, an old hymn reminds us to focus on God and seek His blessing for the future. We can't relive the past, but we can thank Him for His gifts and ask for His protection. We pray for His grace to help us stay pure and flee from evil, and that our lives may bring Him glory. Let us commit the coming year to Him, trusting in His watchful eye.

VERSE
Proverbs 10:28 (KJV) The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.

INSPIRATION
The hope of the righteous man will be fulfilled, and he will rejoice. But the wicked's hope shall be cut off forever. Those whose hope is in the Lord shall not be disappointed, but hopes founded on our own will or desires apart from the Lord's will, cannot ultimately endure.

PRAYER
O Lord, my hope is in You alone. Let all of my hopes be founded upon Your promises and on Your clear leadings in my life. If you put a good desire in my heart to serve You in a particular way, may that hope not perish if it is truly found to be will. But let me not make the transient treasures and pleasures of this life my hope. Amen

VERSE
Proverbs 20:22 (KJV) Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee.

INSPIRATION
Contrary to what the world might say, revenge is never sweet. If someone wrongs you, do not seek to get back at them. That is not love and that is not of God. Focus on healing and forgiving instead, and move on with your life. This is mature and it is godly.

PRAYER
Dear God, I pray that in times where I am offended may I never stoop to the level of my offender. I pray that you will help me heal and forgive, instead of seek to gain revenge. I know that there is nothing in revenge. May I act in your love instead, Lord. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

VERSE
Psalms 34:19-20 (KJV) Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.

INSPIRATION
As Christians we should always keep in mind that we could face persecution, mockery, beatings, isolation, and attacks for being advocates of the gospel. But we should also remember that these moments of affliction will never gain any comparison to the glory of what is to come on the day of the Resurrection, where we will receive new glorious bodies, free from infirmities and sin. It is because of this, we gladly go through all we go through, because we know that everything we face on this earth is temporary.

PRAYER
Dear God, I am aware of what may come my way because I choose to align myself with you. I do not consider it any loss, the suffering I may endure on this earth, as a result of my faith in you. Whatever my earthly body endures on this earth, as a result of being a Christian, I count it worth it when I think of the glory that is to come. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Verse

James 1:12 (KJV) Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

Inspiration

All of us have experienced severe tests of our faith. Many Christians have also had to endure persecution for their beliefs. James explains the importance of keeping faith, standing strong, and holding onto your beliefs. This lesson from James was perhaps given with some foresight into the coming trials for early Christians, who were persecuted and killed for believing in Christ. It still happens today in some parts of the world, but strengthen your faith in difficult times! Do this and reap the ultimate reward.

Prayer

Esteemed Father and creator of all that is good, I shall not wander from your path. With each passing test and tribulation my faith in you is reinforced, and I ask that you help me strengthen the faith of all those around me. Sustain me, O Lord, with your power so that I may go from this place as a faithful child of you, filled with the Holy Spirit for all to witness. In the name of Christ I humbly pray this to you, Amen.

VERSE

John 10:9-10 (KJV) I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

INSPIRATION

Sheep occur frequently in Biblical references as it is represented for many at the time a familiar and relatable image of an animal which had great significance for many households, tied intimately to their income and survival. They were precious extensions to one's family. Whilst the profession of a shepherd is not seen much today, it still serves nevertheless as an apt metaphor for the followers of the Lord, who rely on his grace and compassion within the wilderness. Wolves, as in the above passage in relation to thieves, were constant threats to the flock, stealing away what they could. As the famous parable of the lost sheep perhaps best illustrates, a good shepherd will stop at nothing to retrieve a member of their flock, for each is as precious as the others. This is perhaps most significantly what John means; if we are lost, we may be redeemed. Thus, we may live life more abundantly, knowing that our savior will not abandon us. A life without God however, of straying willingly towards ignorance, grants us only impoverishment, of isolation and fear.

PRAYER

In Jesus’ name I pray, for He is my shepherd and the light within the barren wilderness. Lead me to Your pastures freely, where I may be safe under Your salvation, and happy in the knowledge that should I stray, my savior will find me. Grant me thus Lord, a life of abundance. Abundant in Your love for the fellowship of the faithful. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

(VERSE)
Psalms 31:1 (KJV) In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.

(INSPIRATION)
Trust in God can never lead to shame – that is a definite. If anything, trusting in God and choosing to be in line with his guidance will help us avoid a great deal of self-inflicted shame. As God’s children, righteous in Christ Jesus, we can walk with assurance because our Father has ordered our steps. This gives us the strength to endure anything that comes our way.

(PRAYER)
Dear God, I have put all my trust in you and I am at rest because I know that you always have my best concerns at heart. I am saved because of your love; there is nothing on this earth that can shake my salvation. In times where my trust is tested, Lord I ask that you help me remain fixed on you. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

(VERSE)
Proverbs 10:8 (KJV) The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.

(INSPIRATION)
Those who desire godly wisdom will receive it and they will know when to listen, when to speak, and when to act accordingly. But when one thrives in foolishness, failure is inevitable because they never knew how to act in different situations. A fool is a person who refuses to follow God’s guidance in their lives. Make sure that you are not acting like one in your life; it will save you from much stress and heartache.

(PRAYER)
Dear God, I desire to walk in Your wisdom and follow Your guidance in my life. I desire to be wise, Lord, because I know that in godly wisdom, there is life. Father, may I never be one who tries to go contrary to Your will; I do not desire to be a fool. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

(VERSE)
1 John 4:18 (KJV) There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

(INSPIRATION)
There is in the Bible a "fear of God" that is holy reverance and a desire to avoid offending him or suffering his judgment or discipline. That kind of fear is compatible with love and helps us depart from iniquity. But faithless fear, of man, of life events, or of God based on false ideas, is incompatible with love of God.

(PRAYER)
O giver of true love in our hearts, it is your purpose to cast out all ungodly fear that our love for you may be made perfect. When we love you perfectly, we will also serve you perfectly. And that service will not be a burden but a joy. Extinguish false fears in us, Lord, we pray, and strengthen a true love for you in our hearts. Amen

(((DEVOTION)))

((ONE GOD LOVING ALL))

(JUST AS ANY GOOD PARENTS HE WANTS US TO BE HAPPY)

(VERSE)
Micah 7:18-19 (KJV) Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.
He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

(INSPIRATION)
Our ancestors believed in gods who were vengeful who always needed to be appeased. It wasn’t until Abraham appeared as our father in faith that there began a belief in one God who was loving, not vengeful. As many times as the Israelites turned away and sinned, God forgave them. God followed through on his promises and sent a Savior into the world so that we would not have to suffer eternal punishment for our sins. All he asks of us is to turn to him and ask forgiveness. Just as any good parent, he wants us to be happy. He gave us the blueprint for happiness in the Ten Commandments. All we need to do is follow them. Then Jesus came and simplified them into a simple command to love others as he loved us. One problem seems to be that we choose who we want to love and Jesus didn’t say to love the loveable, just to love. He even told us to love our enemies. Then he taught us to pray and in that prayer, he tells us that we will be forgiven as we forgive. In chapter seven of Matthew’s gospel we read, “For with whatever judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with whatever measure you measure, it will be measured to you.” Again, it doesn’t say that the people we want to judge must be innocent, but that the same standards by which we operate will be used on us. Are any of us without sin? Since the answer to that is “No” then we don’t have any right to judge. I personally am very happy to let God have that job. I have enough trouble taking care of myself.

(PRAYER)
Almighty and eternal God, there is no other God but you. Thank you for loving us enough to forgive us when we fail and to give us the graces we need to do better. May we always stay faithful to you. Amen
